basketball in New York in August

    I posted this query in Basketball forum but it just got lost in personality posts. Maybe better luck here:
    Is there ever any (top level) basketball on in New York in August - going on holiday and would love to see a match.

    NBA amd NCAA (College) seasons do not start till end of October or early November so it's even too early for preseason.

    New York Liberty play their games in Westchester.

    Thanks for the replies - won't have a car so looks like that would be a 2 hr trip each way ...not so sure about that. Thanks anyway.

    Middle of baseball season. There might be a few preseason NFL games at MetLife in August.

    No basketball unfortunately, you can take a tour of MSG though and shoot a basket if court is set up.
