Arnie just wandered into a big gap in the centre of the defence there.

West Ham manager was probably odds on to be sacked after the first 4 games and he will probably will manager of the month now.

Now it's the Man U manager under serious pressure.

Amazing what can happen in a few games.

    Utd are a shambles.

Its not quiet at the level where he found himself 16th at Chelsea in December a few years ago but does anyone think he's got it in him to rally Utd in the next year or two, I don't think so.

    He's yesterday's man.

Players downing tools. No way they are busting a gut for him.

Not a chance, he’s finished at this level. It’s his last season in that job and I don’t expect him to see it out.

At least he could point to a player revolt in that case, here it seems Pogba is not being backed by the squad so it's entirely down to Mourinho is this.

Man U are a shambles from Woodward down.

The Glazers won't care though as Woodward is raking in the money on the corporate side of things.

I was reading during the week that they take 50% of all the money Man U make out of the club.

I sincerely hope they keep him. Great manager.

Every single fan of football saw this coming before he even joined Man U and called it.

3 seasons and then the collapse and meltdowns.

A lot of Utd fans never wanted him, and predicted this too. Proven right.

When you're forced to play lumps like Young, Fellaini, McTominay and Smalling then you realise the problem runs far deeper than just having a manager with horrific tactics. That sub bench is terrible too.

West Ham were excellent, 3-1 didn’t flatter them at all. You’d have to think Jose is all but done, terrible performance from them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

That Mark Noble got MOTM by West Ham might sum up how bad United have been today. That and making Zabaleta look 25 again.
Mourinho might lament not getting enough money but he's not exactly improving the players he buys; he has the opposite effect actually.

A huge amount of them did want him and turned a blind eye to his antics at his previous club.

    Very true.

No doubt the board will be blamed though. Or Pogba.

You can usually count on Jose winning trophies and you accept, that at some stage it's going to go t*ts up because the short term gain usually sets a club up after he leaves.

First season at Utd was sh*te but he won 2 trophies and got them back to the CL, since then its not improved at all and his usual 3rd season syndrome is well and truly underway, there's only one way out from here for all involved and it's a big pay off and away into the sunset with Jose.

I think it's fair to say its Jose's last top 6 job In England and where he goes after Utd is anyone's guess, PSG? Inter? China? Portugal national job?

    Chelsea
City dropped 14 points in 38 games last season. Man Utd have drooped 11 points in 7 games this season. That’s a big gulf.

OK, but did the leagues best left back not play today? :pac:
    Or the worlds greatest goalkeep?
But Lukaku, one of the top top strikers. He not play?

That penalty awarded to Spurs contrasted with the Penalty not given to Lacazette shows why players have to go down under any kind of contact.

Didn't look like there was much contact at all for the Spurs penalty. Will need to see if again.

There was contact but no need to go down and if it had been 2 yards further out he definitely wouldn't have.

Warning: contains an opinion that may upset the extra sensitive. Please do not read if online opinions 'trigger' you.

Expected result really, United playing their first team mid week and losing was a huge morale loss, it seems like Jose has lost the dressing room also. Reminds a bit like Wenger, he just couldn't adapt to the modern way, he does well with a slightly underdog team. Unlike his Chelsea first days with Chelsea were he could buy every best player in the world, the game has changed, the market has changed and he hasn't.

He had a very very good defence at Chelsea. And he had Drogba up front who was absolutely ideal to the way Mourinho plays the game. Man Utd’s current defence are average at best and Lukaku is no Drogba.
