Installing new drive in ps4 , while using external hard drive.

Hello, I've recently got my hands on a hard drive that I want to install into my ps4 slim. My only problem is that I'm worried the PS4 won't recognize the external hard drive after changing the main drive. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks in advance.

Hello,

External drives aren't locked to a particular PS4.

I think the only thing you'd want to do is properly discounted the drive. Press the PS button, get the side menu up and go up to sound/devices and then select stop using extended storage.
