Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just just sign a self declaration about medical status.

    Ahh, cool :)

Oh grand, I handed that form in the day I was interviewed.

I got temp contract. Had to do a medical including a urine test.
(I acknowledge that this is the permanent thread. It seems strange that a temp would need a medical, but not perms. I don't know if all temps have to do it.)

  • Registered Users Posts: 1 Kazzaroo

I had 2 temp contracts over the last two years and I never had to do a urine test or a medical.

No they dont, you were just randomly selected.

Most CO/TCO would just sign a health and medical declaration but it does state on it that declaration that you may be asked to attend a medical examination.

I did two temp contracts. One i had to, the other I didn't. I presume it is up to the relevant authority that snaps you off the list.

    Hi All,

I'm through to stage 2 in Dublin but living in Sligo - wondering is it worth the drive as I'm due a baby in April but initially the post had said jobs would be starting in January and second round September - I ticked the September only.

are these all full-time jobs or both PT/FT?

Is there a way of checking what score I got in stage 1?

A woman in my office started as a co and went on maternity leave a week later. Her time on maternity counted as service with regards to increment increase.
They are full time positions with an option to go reduced hours after 12 months.

I don’t recall seeing a box to choose option of start date? Where was this?

Are you sure that was for this campaign and not the temporary clerical officer campaign?

    1. Thats not this campaign, its sounds like Executive Officer or Administrative Officer job in Revenue... Clerical Officer is an all year around panel.

    2. Most Civil Service jobs are full time. You can take shorter working year or job sharing but you must service at least one year before you can apply for them schemes.

    3. Driving from Sligo to Dublin. I dont see how any job would be worth it.

Any movement on Donegal? Also, does everyone have to go to Dublin for Stage 2?

Yes. Stage 2 and further stage (interview) if successful are only held in the public jobs office on Abbey Street in Dublin.

Anyone heard anything for Batch 1? Will we get a link via email to Garda vetting before an offer is made or do we get an email first with a placement and then the vetting follows? I've seen varying reports in the 2016 thread about this. I guess its unlikely any of us will hear anything before Christmas.

I think this competition excluded Dublin, maybe you mean the temporary CO campaign? So I don't know if anyone has started, sorry!

Don't think so...some say it won't be until the new year owing to contracts and pay runs etc. I'm eagerly awaiting word that someone has been contacted and then we will know that the ball is rolling.

If you look back on this thread there are loads of pointers :)
Just prep well and you'll be fine. The interviewers will put you at ease.

Do you automatically go in at the lowest scale or do they take into account qualifications and work experience?

You start on the lowest scale. Qualifications and experience are not taken into account.

You start on the lowest scale. Qualifications and experience are not taken into account.

However, qualifications and experience may help you further down the track (years from now) when it comes to interviews for promotions for EO and beyond

Dont say too much if you're worried about data privacy but a quick search of your posts show where you are applying for. Great job and a fantastic jump in your position from your stage 1 results up to after interview. Looks like you made great strides and earned your early call :)

Congrats. Best of luck in the new job.

    Thanks guys.

Didn't expect a call this early myself. Just to keep you updated; my county was Tipperary. I was in the top 15.
