Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It’s 23338 per annum which would be €1705 net per month which would be €420 per week after tax or slightly less as most months have more than 28 days.

Im on point 2 now but when I started I was getting about 690 a fortnight after all the deductions, tax, pension etc

Does anyone have a rough idea of the take home pay for the CO role?

I was getting 401 a week after tax when I started and that was early last year, there has been a couple of small pay increases since then

Anyone got offer for Cork yet? And if you did what number were you on panel. I got number 11 after my interview and just wondering how things are moving.

Think you skip point 4 on the scale and jump to 5

When their marking the tests - say for example the checking test, there is 46 questions and you manage to answer 36 of them and 26 of those answers are correct.

Is it marked 26/36 or 26/46?

I think its 26/36 however there is still a minimum score of say for example 26 correct answers.

In that situation, you passed. If the minimum was 27, you would have failed.

Have the competencies really well prepared, at least 2 examples for each. Be able to explain any gaps in your employment, all the way since your leaving cert. Know how to send a group email!

Most of all, be concise in your answers. There isn't much time (though it feels like ages when you're in there), be able to make your point without waffling!

Good luck, it's not nearly as scary as it feels right now!

A guy who was interviewed for the CO Customs Officer job failed his interview, not sure if both interviews are the same though. You could ask in that thread.

It is literally all about competencies really. Keep it short and sweet! Make sure you prepare why you think your right for the role and what attracted you to the role of CO. How to send a bulk email.(Bcc). What role did you learn most from in the past!...They are lovely and very to the point don't let it throw you if they cut you off!! They are just very conscious of time. Best of luck!!!! :)

Has anyone hear anything from Meath? I never got an OOM from Meath after the interview, just the Westmeath OOM.

    Yes, lol :)

You didnt seem a wreck to me. Thought you were very calm considering! If you showed any signs in the interview, I'm sure they took it into consideration that you were waiting so long to be seen :)

Hi podsull1 - what number roughly are you for Kerry if you don't mind me asking, did they call another batch to stage 2. Last I checked they had called up to 43 in Kerry to Stage 2.

Yes Clerical 2018 competition. I emailed PAS asking if the placements had started in Limerick...the recruitment Dept. emailed me back to say I’m allocated a place in Limerick and clearance would be in touch, so I rang clearance and they said that yes I have been assigned a position but won’t be given details until clearance call me.

I'm in high teens for Limerick and have heard nothing since getting OOM after interview although others seems to be aware that they are being put through clearance. I presume you would be contacted before they start clearance process

Also yes I’ve seen people here from Tipp get offered jobs in revenue.

As far as I can tell they don’t call you to tell you that you are in clearance unless you ask them. There was another girl here as well that just called them on the off chance and they told her she was in clearance. Instead they call you when they are ready to give you the details of your assignment.

I've kerry and limerick like. It's for limerick it said I'm 90s too

For those who have been issued a final overall OOM for limerick....
Batch 1 is divided up into 2 batches (at least)...batch 1.1 and Batch 1.2

there are approx 27 in B 1.1 and they have contacted approx 16 people from there - don't panic - you can see what batch you're in in your message details under 'Our Ref' - expect them to contact the remainder by later end of december - don't panic

For those enquiring on Kerry there is 43 in Batch 1 - some have been interviewed some not - they are calling up from 44 onwards for stage 2 testing from 10/12 december this will comprise batch 2

  • Registered Users Posts: 25 WillieHyena

My first choice location is Kerry - I've already been interviewed for Limerick so my scores will transfer across to Kerry - either way I will be in batch 2 - I may end up Batch 2 no 1 or Batch 2 no 90 (Depending on how many they call up for second stage testing) and how othere's score ....

As it stands best placed scenario for me is that I will be no 1 overall for Batch 2 i.e they are 43 people ahead of me to be placed from Batch 1

Factor in 50 % mobility transfers ( existing staff transferring in from other counties ) and that could take a long time to get to me

Key question is how many vacancies are there going to be in Kerry (or any other county) for 2019/20 ?? - without knowing that the panel could end before you get placed again

You'll get called for Limerick before kerry I'd imagine and they have more vacancies - my advice take the first concret offer you get or else you may find yourself going thru' the whole process again

Clearance is where the vetting , health and references etc are administered / this is the section that contacts you by phone as far as i know
