FX for large sums - better than CurrencyFair?

I've read that CurrencyFair may not be as competitive for foreign exchange, as the sums get larger (lets say multiple years salary) - what are other peoples experiences of this? Are there other FX alternatives, that become better value, as the amount exchanged grows higher?
