Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Its 7 seasons since the club won anything. It may be a lesser competition to win but go for it and not be looking back in a few years as nearly men.

The only benefit is playing fringe players in it IMO. Klopps success at Liverpool will be judged on winning the league or cl, league cup is way down the list of priorities. He put out a plenty strong enough team tonight.

This competition is over before the business end of the season so makes sense to go for the win imo.

Maybe but it gives them mid weeks off now as the season gets underway when they have a few tough games coming up in the League and Champions League

Would have been nice to win but any cup where teams are making 8/9 changes to teams isn't really worth taking too bad when your out

Just the 7 years without a trophy for Liverpool now. 1 in 13.Klopp and the club allergic to silverware.

What's not any more 7 out of 7 before this?

No point sure when United won it they lost the 2nd leg in the semi final only to say that it did not count in there "26" games of being unbeaten so i take it this defeat does not count :pac:

Hazards touch and dribbling skills are easily up there with anyone right now. Unplayable on his day

I'd have preferred to win on Saturday but winning from behind at Anfield was pretty good.

Hazards form since the start of the WC has been sensational.

The league cup isn't big enough for Liverpool given the level of investment. It has to be the PL or CL. The league cup or FA cup would be a nice addition to one of those trophies but not enough on their own for Liverpool.

Bit of a ridiculous mentally considering how few trophies they actually won in recent times. Beggers can't be choosers and all that.

If they fail to win the PL or CL this year what then? Liverpool's squad depth is more than capable to cover the multiple cups.

Even stating '' Not enough on their own''. I would have thought Liverpools aspiration would be. Challenge for League/Knockouts for CL, win FA or League Cup which is very well manageable given how good the team is.

But it's baffling that fans will pick what trophy they want. Whenever the argument comes around of how many trophies Liverpool have won in recent history the fans are perfectly happy to say The League Cup.

Fans being hypocrites shocker, most fans will not care about the League Cup until the semi-final or final and will not really care if they are put out early if they think they are chasing something bigger.

If their team wins the league cup then they will celebrate it like winning any other cup and lord it over others for a season

Ya, if youre not going to win the cup, its best to get K/O'd in the 3rd/4th round, save yourself a 2 legged semi final in January when games are coming thick and fast.

Teams could end up playing 18 games from the start of December to the end of January if they run deep into the League Cup and require replays in the FA Cup.

Being knocked out early means those fringe players may not get many games and could be upset. But it also gives the manager more prep time when they have that rare mid week off

I despise the 2 legged SF in the League Cup, its even more stupid that the FA cup Sf being played at Wembley.

Why did Everton play tonight and not last week? Something to do with the Pool v Chelsea LC game?

Something to do with the cops not wanting 2 games back to back on the Tuesday and Wednesday, plus Everton played on the Sunday before so would have been unfair on them to play Sunday, Tuesday

City 1 up from De Bruyne who caught the goalie cold. But confused why Leicester picked a weakened side but I guess it's due to the upcoming Christmas schedule.

City to stay in the cup best result here I suppose.

I see Albrighton equalised for Leicester.

The game is going to penalties.

    Come on, Leicester.

Leicester’s penalties were so bad I can only assume they fancied a few days off rather than play in a semi final.

That might be the worst penalty shootout I've ever seen.
