    Anyone know where I could buy a denim waistcoat. I have searched on line, but could not find one.

    Do you mean the denim jacket type, no sleeves look - try searching for "Denim Vest" rather than waistcoat.

    Failing that, get a time machine, type in 1977 and hold tight.

    as an FYI, Americans call waistcoats vests so your google search will present far more online options if you search for vests as well.  Vintage stores in Ireland may sell them as well (maybe give Eager Beaver in Temple Bar, Dublin a call. I know they sell leather waistcoats (more 80s than 70s! :)) .
