If you've been in those countries in summer you've surely experienced 28c+ before?

It's 31.6c here now. Never had more than 28c on holiday but I always go in September

This has probably been mentioned already but what is the record high temperature for Cork city or county and is there a chance of that record being broken in the next few days?

Only back now from Wicklow (will have pics soon :D).

Don't have a high temperature record for Cork city but for Cork Airport it's 28.7c on 14th July 1983 whilst for June specifically, 27.5c on 30th June 1995.

26C now at Dunshaughlin, which matches yesterday's max high for the area. Hoping to squeeze a 27C out of this spell which would make today the hottest day of the year.

Yes, I know that, often well in to the 30s, Fortunately it wasn't anytime I've been there.

Really? Like I know I’m in Dublin where temps are lower but the temperatures around the country are lower than some I’ve experienced in even recent years. Even the crappy summer of 2012 had four scorching days in a row. I remember because it was my granny’s funeral days. She was reposing at her house and we had to buy a big fan to blow at the coffin (undertaker’s orders). I believe the high where we were was 29 degrees.m

2013 and 2014’s spells would equal this as well as the hottest days from 1995. Actually some days from those summer’s would exceed these temperatures.

27 degrees in cork city (In the center atm) , feels it too. I’ve breeze to cool you down every so often though. Looking at the stats Moore park seems to represent the city more then cork airport and roches point tbh.

1995 was an extraordinary summer!! With 27 days of over 25 degrees in Kilkenny and Dublin had unbroken sunshine for 9 consecutive days with no clouds.

Maybe we're on track for another??

they should have a station out by the old dump or fitzgeralds park. the airport never has temps to match the city

28c here now, and that's in a light but steady breeze blowing in from the nearby countryside. Can't deal with this heat at all.

Showing 32°C in Oranmore - but the back yard is a bit of a Sun/heat trap

30.4C is the highest reached here in north east Kilkenny.
I was in Kilkenny and I came out of an air conditioned building and it would remind one of when they are holidays and you exit into a wave of heat.

Kinda perfect warmth for my journey through the Wicklow Mountains today after a disappointing morning of cloud. It got gradually sunnier.

Still doesn't compare to how beautiful Sunday was.

Yes. The benchmark for all of us who don't remember 1976. Last week of June was hitting 30-32C locally. Sunday 9th July when Clare won their first Munster hurling title since 1914 was a scorcher. Laois played Dublin in Navan in serious heat and Jason Sherlock scored a goal in his socks when his boot fell off.

August began in a swelter and continued on. 30C still being reached until 20 August. The mean Kilkenny monthly air temp was 18.9C. Would have almost topped 20C but for a relatively cool last week.

Yes exactly 31.0c. Elphin, Co. Roscommon reached 32.3c that day - the highest July temperature on record and third highest temperature on record in Ireland for any month.
