Poor ole Malin Head, 17 C with a 14 kt Easterly. Would be chilly despite the sun.

Some of the posters here would consider that temperature as too warm.

Saw my neighbour in the field and needed to ask re the car battery so went out half an hour ago... That heat even in the gentle breeze... Of course we got chatting and catching up with news and far too long out there

He is MAKING HAY with a huge old scythe! We farm traditionally here..

    Sweat pouring off me...

28.4C in Castlebar, higher than yesterday already, I can see it possibly hitting over 30C today as our highest temperature occurred just after 19.00 yesterday evening.

Starting to feel a touch uncomfortable in North Dub. Sea breeze has not kicked in yet.

Any official readings for wicklow (coastal) anywhere? Have never felt heat like it here. Car says 30 but I know that'd be off, thermometer I have in the garden says 29, again wouldn't be the reliable. Accuweather saying its 21 but it feels so much more than that.

I got close to 40 degrees in mayo in the direct sun before I moved to shade and then got 34 degrees. Then my cheap thermometer fell and broke. Rip. Damn you summer heat wave summer 2018

Yeah the city center is cooler right next to the sea. I just got back from there and it's definitely a few degrees hotter here in the SW suburbs, about 10km inland.

Just seen some of the food outlets in the Athlone Town Centre Shopping Centre sending staff home because of Health & Safety issues, high temperatures in the mall areas.

Yes but St George is in the Mojave Desert where human survival would be nearly impossible in summer without mod cons. I have been in Vegas at the height of summer when it's 46-47c but it's only hot when you step outside. Most of Ireland doesn't have ac so that 28 degrees turns houses into saunas especially at night.

    +1

People don’t get that hot countries can invest in all kind of ways to keep cool. It’s easy to ask from the fuss is from your air-conditioned home.

It was the same yesterday when I got off the train in Sallins.

Wish my car had air-conditioning that last drive home will be a scorcher.
