Wind after picking up a fair bit here in kildare ...still temps just tipping the 30 mark.
Very weird to feel such a warm wind in Ireland...

It's not THAT warm. Especially if you're in an air conditioned room. Enjoy it while it lasts I'd say, make the most of it.

    Aldergrove 29c

I think the all time NI record will fall today. Probably at Castlederg. But could be Aldergrove.

A personal record for me would be to see Aldergrove hit 30c (as an official reporting site). Never seen that before and it’s just a few miles away from where I live

FYI: you need to update the times settings on your weather station. You're an hour behind.

Rain possibly on Saturday night and Sunday down south. It’s still uncertain if that rain will happen at all and it doesn’t look like anything substantial.

Just laughing with a fellow weather friend here.   We both are monitoring the hourly temperature readings from ME on their site to see how high they go and it reminds us of checking the rainfall radar charts every 15 minutes in winter when snow is imminent...and how that and reading this chat thread is so distracting when we should be working!:)

It’s sunny here for a few weeks and we are talking water shortages.

It’s seriously sunny in the Algarve for 200 days and semi sunny for another 100 they have thousands of swimming pools, irrigate their grounds every night, and I have never seen a water shortage in all the years I have holidayed there. And it rains here 200 days most years. Something seriously wrong with our water services.

    Weather is fantastic.

Probably have systems in place to better harvest rainwater, aling with a water charges regieme that would encoirage conservation at all times unlike our water is free and unlimted and "sure it just falls from the sky brigaade"

I think this temp animation chart for today shows just how the heat 'gathers' over regions not exposed to sea breezes (primarily midland and Midwest regions) etc over the course of the day, and how slow it is to cool down at night in these regions:

    29c in Tuam now.

Hope no one is going to the Balkans for the weather - unless it's to cool down.

31.0c now at Danno's station in Durrow.

    That's 0.4c higher than yesterday.

Assuming all the equipment is legit! :D

I posted our temperature map on a European forum yesterday and all the Greeks and Balkans were complaining that we stole their summer. It has supposedly been cool and rainy there for a long time now.

Most of them were laughing at 30C being hot for us, but they did understand that we're not used to it at all.

0.4C higher at the same time, or overall?
