I had to put sand on the road outside our entrance last year in June because the tar was sticking to lorry wheels turning in.

Fine sand or lime dust does the trick.

19C at Drogheda/Dundalk
32C off the Wicklow coastline
20C off the Wexford coastline

There is no better country in the world in good weather. I did a huge amount of swimming during the last spell even though the sea was quite chilly. It will be perfect now. Cant wait.

The so called Best From The West is because the good weather is as a result of an Azores anticyclone is building in from the west. It is normally mucky weather we get from the Atlantic but there are occasions where pressure can build in from that direction.

Dewpoints should be on the rise during the week, starting off relatively benign Monday and Tuesday but probably rising to the mid-high teens later in the week. The 12Z ECM has max temperatures 28 °C through the midlands and east on Thursday with afternoon dewpoints 14-18 °C.

I remember in the summer of 1995, the temperatures were over 30C. I had a moped going to work, put on sunscreen, and by the time I got there looked like that sticky fly paper with all the midges stuck to me. Not an attractive look.

Well in fairness, I will include myself in that. Hate sticky, humid heat. There is nothing nice about it. Dry Sahara induced heat, yes. Otherwise no thanks.
