    Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of getting a visa for Australia to predominantly live there for 6+ months while working for an Irish company, getting paid euro into an Irish bank account and paying taxes in Ireland?

The company are looking at putting on an event in Australia which will require spending a lot of time there over the next few months.

The eVisitor business visa subclass 651, which you can obtain online, allows you to enter Australia for business purposes. It's good for 12 months and you can enter Australia as many times as you like in that time and carry out "business visitor" activities, including making general business enquiries; negotiating, signing, reviewing business contracts; particitpating in conferences and trade fairs, etc. The catch is that each visit can last a maximum of 3 months. You may not sell goods or services to the public in Australia, and you may not work for an Australian business or organisation. Have a look into that one and see if it meets your needs.

If it doesn't, then I think your employer will want to approach a migration agent to see what more specialised visa might be suitable.
