Plastic flowerpot recycling.

I have lots of small plastic pots that bedding plants etc. came in. Wicklow recycling centre wouldn't take them as they have recycling symbol 6. Do any garden centres take them for recycling? ..or any place North Wicklow or South Dublin? They should be obliged to.

6 is polystyrene, see http://naturalsociety.com/recycling-symbols-numbers-plastic-bottles-meaning/

These plastics are hard to recycle unfortunately, your best bet might be to reuse as many of the pots as you can.

I usually return them to my local garden centre - they grow a lot of their own plants and are always happy to take them.

Or bring them to a nursery which supplies plants to garden centres.
