Scotland badge on Westmoreland Street

If you look just above where the old black tie shop is on Westmoreland Street there is a Scotland badge/shield. Full lion rampant and thistles. Does anybody know why???

I thought it was going to be connection to the earl of westmorland but thats in cumbria!

It was occupied by Scottish Widows insurance company very early on.

Scottish National has established a branch at 28 Westmoreland Street, Dublin, under resident secretary Richard Pim.

(Prior to this, there are few references to various solicitors and a bookseller in the building around 1850, 1860)

It's amazing what you find online: Here's a claim for £2 and 2 shilings for a postal bag which was destroyed by fire in the GPO in 1916. It belonged to Richard Pim & Son, (of 28 Westmoreland Street),
