Remedies for old scars?

I have quite a few old, white scars that I'd like to get rid of or at least fade as much as possible. I'm not sure if Bio Oil would be any good on account of them being old. I've also heard of vitamin e oil and lavender oil, has anyone tried any of these or have any other ideas as to what might work?

I used Dermatix Scar Gel, it was good.
