Relocation dilemma between Kildare Village (close to Dublin) or Waterford City or Cor

I have a very big dilemma where to relocate. I work as regulatory affairs specialist as a profession and many pharma companies are distributed but mostly in and around Dublin, followed by Cork and last is Waterford City. (Galway is not in my top list no offence).
My work entitle me to work from home and I intend to use this flexibility with the advantage to seek other location than staying in heart of the city.
So, i want to know if someone other there and more over if there are people work in the pharma or recruiting agencies can help solve this dilemma. I have 3 kids under 5 years. Wife will not work. Rent, opportunities and education are the main importance.
Here is my preference and my opinion about the three locations:
Waterford City has less opportunity but i felt the most welcoming place from all three. Pharma is limited but i was considered if i had to choose it, maybe i would still be able to have opportunity to work from waterford for other companies from home should i decide have a change in career. What is your opinion? How likely a company would accept homebased in ireland? Education is good in Waterford? rate pls.
Cork City more opportunity, more vibrant and still the rent not too expensive compared to Dublin. Education is good in Cork? rate pls.
Dublin has everything overall. One only problem is the expense to stay there and a hectic life. So i was looking at Kildare town even newsbridge or Naas. Here the commute time to dublin is still under 60mins but everday it maybe hectic. working from home 2 days/week would relief :). Overall rent still remain high compared to Cork or Waterford. The idea is to buy a property in the end, remain in the same location for kids to attend school, integrate into community and build a social life with the locals.

Alot to read and alot more to consider. But overall based on my vacations in ireland i think those 3 locations I felt the most reasonable for my kind of work but moreover the best locations for my style of living. Otherwise i would go for Kerry or sligo but the work is really poor.

Look forward to hear from you.

    thanks in advance.

Anyone who has some feedback would be very much appreciated. In simple words:
For someone working in the pharma industry and have a family with 3 kids and wife unemployed, and search to have a bit of everything but still living in a tranquil community, which of the following places would you choose to live:
Kildare town / Newbridge / Naas (Kidare County) - close to Dublin
    North/South Dublin City
    Waterford City / Outskirts
    Cork City / Outskirts

    South Dublin city.

Huge variation in those areas. 500 k for example would buy you a gorgeous house in naas but a barely habitable hovel in Blackrock. What's the budget.

My only concern right now is not owning a property but rather the choice of location in relation to my current commitments, family and job opportunities. If i had to put all this together which location would be the best fit?
After i have considered for a very long time to live in Dublin city I am having doubts. When I look at other locations from those I've mentioned above and put into perspective the cons and pros I see Cork and Waterford have good potential including Kildare areas.

From your posts, it appears you are not working in the Pharma Industry in Ireland, but hope to.

If so, get the job first then worry about the rest after. You will be renting, so if you don't like where you first rent, then move. That is if you're lucky to find a good house in the first place.

Anything else is putting the cart before the horse.

10pennymixup, thanks for your comment. Actually you are right I do not currently work in Ireland but I do work in the Pharma Industry. I am asking here to really understand the best choice of location where I can still be flexibile changing jobs if needed. Waterford may not seem with highest job opportunities in the pharma industry but it surely gives a more tranquil life.
Right now I am receiving opportunity to work there but i want to evuluate first which area would best fit for me and my family. Keep in mind I have 3 small kids.

Have a look at Dunboyne and sallins

Not sure about cost in Dunboyne but train link to city Centre. Close (could even cycle) to lots of big pharma in wider Blanchardstown area ( alexion. Bms. Mylan. Geubert. Shire)
Commutable to grange castle Pfizer grifols takeda.

Sallins is cheaper than naas and offfers train link to city.

Thanks Mick. I will take your tips into consideration. I am however curious further away. I read an article that many expats are taking into consideration Cork as an alternative. A number of good pharma companies are stationed there but definitely i need to be really careful as i actually work in an office and not necessary in the manufacturing sites. It could be the manufacturing is in cork but the HQ for admin jobs like mine are stationed in Dublin.
