Ducati 999 - €4700. Had a 749 before and loved it. Would love to keep one of these long term, probably will go up in value over time.

That Ducati looks unreal. Might have to check it out. Definitely one to hold onto. As you said, they are definitely increasing in value.

New battery, a service (including brake, clutch and final drive oil change) and someone would have a nice bike (including luggage) for under €4k.

I see its got the touring screen too, much needed for a tall rider on the GS (I know because I've a screen spoiler in the post).

Knock something off that price and someone's going to get a really nice bike for a very decent price.

Cruisers are often stuck with a bad rep, but I present to you the Triumph Rocket III Touring edition, bags and fairing for £8,500 which is imo a bloody good deal considering the low mileage.

I've had two and the f*cking drink petrol like its an alcoholic on a bender. Many's a time I stopped looking for a leak in the tank

The Touring is also restricted to 100bhp, so all the weight, all the fuel consumption and none of the fun.

To be fair, at 2300 CC's you'd expect it to gulp down the fuel. I remember seeing one around 2004/05 and falling in love with it then. I'd pick up that or the Honda Valkyrie in a heart beat.

If anybody here knows anyone selling a BMW F650 GS Dakar, I would be interested. Must be the post-04 model with the twin spark engine. Missed out on an absolute bargain last week, I was too slow off the mark.


I've trawled through the UK GSer forum but there are hardly any for sale. I'd also just like the convenience of buying it in Ireland. Cheers!:)

But apart from the engine being 'done last year' I'd have concerns about the shocks, bearings and shaft at that mileage. But I guess its a cheap way for someone curious about GS ownership to try one out for awhile, and if you liked it you'd surely get that price off a trade in from a main dealer if you wanted to go up the years (on a GS).

First test get on your knees and grab the back wheel at 9+3 and then 6+12 and check for play. Expensive specialised repair on that driveshaft setup.

Lovely BMW K1200S with tiny mileage - I've always liked these as big sports tourers - but they are pretty heavy I believe for everyday use and commuting etc. Very good deal this one - most I've seen have 40-60k on the clock and go for 5/6k

If I hadn't the GS I'd look at that.

I test rode one before I bought the GS, but I'd only left it back in the shop to consider it and it sold.

They're a seriously nice bike, I loved it and always regretted not taking it.
