I saw someone cyling what i think is a pedal/electric bicycle today. It had the general shape https://dutchbikeshop.ie/gazelle-orange-c7-hfp/ i.e no crossbar and he was pedalling. Are there bikes that the motor kicks in when going uphill? It is for someone who has medical problem but would be able to pedal on flat but need help going uphill.it would be for summer use, not full time and would be for just around a town. How much would they cost?

I use one for commuting to work, the way they work is as you pedal it will give you a "push" up to about 25kmph, as you're going up hills your legs are slowing down so the motor is kicking in in order to maintain that top speed. In terms of cost you can them in cycle superstore ranging from 700 quid to almost 10k. Theres a good few places around

greenaer, cyclesuperstore can't think of many more off the top of my head. Also check adverts.ie. Theres usually a few for sale.
