What is this fluff growing on my apple tree?

Hi all, I noticed this strange white fluff growing on one of my apple trees. There are three others in the area, but it seems to only be on this one. The fluff is on the bark and branches, it is not on the leaves. The weather has been hot and dry lately. Could it be dehydration? Is it a fungus? How do I get rid of it?…

Hi all,

wooly aphis? I think it’s hatmless . Small bit of Methylated spirits gets rid of it I think
