Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Well taken by them. Wren came up for man and ball and didn’t get it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,723 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

That was outstanding from the Welsh winger, whatever about Ireland's defence but the step and the subsequent offload were sublime.

    Our lineout is in trouble

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 70,127 ✭✭✭✭FrancieBrady

Need to settle. Very nervy mistakes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,723 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

Harsh call, but given the question asked by the ref it'd be hard to give it if I was the tmo.

  • Registered Users Posts: 589 ✭✭✭baas baa

Sloppy from the ref for the Penny non try, he should've gotten into a better position to see the grounding.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,742 ✭✭✭✭AdamD

Getting ridden by the ref here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 70,127 ✭✭✭✭FrancieBrady

Frustrating stuff. Hope it isn't one of those nights.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,658 ✭✭✭Kanrith

Don't know where the knock on was there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 589 ✭✭✭baas baa

That's a really silly scrum penalty, That's 2 easy exits they've given Wales deep in their territory.

The PA announcer is trying to run a panto show. Asking the crowd if they think it's a try

10-0 Wales now. need to really lift it before end of half

  • Registered Users Posts: 589 ✭✭✭baas baa

This Welsh side looks comfortable defending, hopefully we don't start to try forcing things.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 70,127 ✭✭✭✭FrancieBrady

It's going pearshaped here. They need to keep ball in hand for a while and get some cohesion going.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,384 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

U-20's been poor so far. Maybe suffering a bit from having the first choice 9, 10 and 12 now missing. Should be better though. This isn't a great Welsh side.

We're really missing Byrne out there. Healy seems a bit jittery and his kicks aren't on the mark.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,817 ✭✭✭✭bilston

His foot touched the dead ball line

Edit - I retract that post. It didn't

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,967 ✭✭✭✭The Lost Sheep

Great score. wren gets the score but keornahan and penny did excellently in build up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 70,127 ✭✭✭✭FrancieBrady

That was class. More of that pleassssssseee!

Wow, huge score out of nothing. Completely changes complexion of the game. Penny is going to be the main man this evening.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,233 ✭✭✭ClanofLams

Kernohan and Penny did great there. Huge to go in only three down given how poor Ireland have been

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,723 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

Scott Penny is something else. Superb break from Kernohan as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

Ireland sprinting to the changing rooms, Wales walking........

  • Registered Users Posts: 589 ✭✭✭baas baa

I thought at the time there was a double knock on back in the Irish 22 but no replay to confirm.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 70,127 ✭✭✭✭FrancieBrady

    Where are ye watching this?

    RTE 2

I assumed it was on IRFU YT page for some reason. Just copped there as I typed the post. Chaws bai.

Kernahan was electric there. Penny has been very good. Lovely step by Wren for the try

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,603 ✭✭✭✭Akrasia

On first view, I thought Wren had touched the deadball line in the ingoal area before touching the ball but actually on replay, it looks ok to me.

  • Registered Users Posts: 589 ✭✭✭baas baa

What is EOS on about, nowhere near the deadball line, then they show all the replays and don't even address the fact he was wrong.

On BBC iPlayer if you’re in UK. Just go to live S4C

excellent from Dylan but was he onside?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,723 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

Did the ref not call a maul?

I think even the TMO was trying to get him to change his mind on that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 70,127 ✭✭✭✭FrancieBrady

    Great ref! :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,271 ✭✭✭Thrashssacre

Interesting interpretation from the ref there but I’ll take it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,233 ✭✭✭ClanofLams

    Welsh 15 has some boot

  • Registered Users Posts: 589 ✭✭✭baas baa

That was immense from Penny, made a big hit and whipped the ball away like a flash.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 70,127 ✭✭✭✭FrancieBrady

    Beautiful

Clear forward pass, took the officials long enough

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,967 ✭✭✭✭The Lost Sheep

****e forward pass would have been some breathing space

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,967 ✭✭✭✭The Lost Sheep

Good score from Welsh converted. now 3 behind. 20 to go

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,229 ✭✭✭A-Train

Ireland haven’t been good at all since they scored the 2nd try.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,037 ✭✭✭Cosmo Kramer

I don't want to be harsh on young, non professional players, but I have seen very few poorer performances at stand off than that one tonight from our 10.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Wales are attacking every ruck. Us going into contact at first receiver is incredibly naive. Playing into their hands.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,603 ✭✭✭✭Akrasia

We've crossed the line 5 times already. Just need the next one to stick

Haven't been good all game apart from a couple of breaks for the tries. General open-field play has been fairly poor, Healy's not had a great day kicking from hand and Foley hasn't held a spark to Casey at all.
