Got a letter today from ulster bank. I had been over charged interest on a sizeable loan I had from 2012 to 2017. I got a cheque enclosed. Enough to pay for most of our summer holiday. Wasn't expecting it. Happy days. Had also got a refund a week or so ago on being overcharged on my overdraft.

    Lovely surprise indeed !!

    Some quare lightning out

It's a rough night, can't remember the last time the lightning was as bad. There's serious showers of sleet falling too, a bad forecast and there was me thinking that the worst of the winter was over!!

North Galway/South Mayo. Power not expected back for a few more hours. 3 local faults on grid.

Sligo, Roscommon border, the power stayed on around here but it was a rough night between wind, lightning and rain. Every night this week has been very wet, a lad locally with a weather station recorded 32mm Tuesday night alone.

I was out driving around kenmare today and came across ewe with a newly born lamb in a field.
    Afterbirth still visible.

So did scanning today and 21 out of 25 are empty....which I'm actually delighted with as they are all heifers bar the cows who are in calf. I'm selling on the heifers and wanted to make sure there were no teenage pregnancy amongst them. However ( referring to previous rant over the hunt)I now have a bottle of estrumate that I don't need as the hunt guy dropped it down to me(I had seen one heifer being bulled so I was reasonably confident I'd need it).so how long does estrumate hold for if it's not open? More hassle then it's worth giving it back.

Anyone giving up anything or doing anything for lent? Going to try and do 20000 steps each day here for the duration, so far so good.

It'll keep for two years when not opened and kept in box at room temperature and keeps for 28 days once opened.

I'm seriously considering giving up everything that's preventing me from availing of such a lifestyle. On second thoughts the bit of farming is probably the number one cause of why I never succeeded at the above. I haven't much willpower and never attempt much for Lent, it only serves to remind me that Easter eggs and better weather are on the way.

Yeah I'm giving up farming. This food production lark is destroying the planet. I can't live with myself anymore. Im just going to live on quinoa and avocados instead.. :p

    Marquee is a great venue.
Seen him in The Point and also Marley Park. Gig i enjoyed most was probably Glor in Ennis a few years ago. Small venue so almost sitting beside him as he played piano.

I remember being at ante natal classes. There was a father to be there who kept saying I can't wait to play football with my son. I was thinking you have a lot to learn if you think they come out able to score goals

I'll have it cleaned out for your next visit. A neighbour here had his tractor cab in a much worse condition than that, he went to get out and a twine got caught around his leg. Did a fair bit of damage to himself, was in hospital for a while

A lot of the GAA pitch installers should turn on the television now.

Ireland v France rugby match and not a sod being turned up.
    It's like a carpet.

Result so far not bad either..
