    May sounds PÍSSED OFF.

Listening to the BBC podcast The Real Story today regarding the potential for reunification and the DUP representative argues that the North needs to stay part of the UK as Westminster subvents them to the tune of over 14 billion, which breaks down at a bit under 300 million a week...I think I remember a similar figure appearing on a bus in the recent past that helped start this entire Brexit mess and the open discussion of reunification.

So we can see the lectern now, it has the Gov Shield on the front, does that mean this is something substantial or the other where she is just gonna double down on Chequers?

Looks like it will be a hard double down on Chequers and probably some more of the "bloody dificult Woman" act in a feble atempt to bloster support for the Conservative Party Conference.

Is she going to challenge them to turn down chequers outright?

    Cancel October?

No power in the room where May is going to make the speech which is delaying things. Haha...

she is rapidly turning into the woman for whom the three words "god love her" were invented.
Nonsense. She has absolutely no intention of resigning, nor calling a GE. She is desperate to be the one in charge when brexit happens, seeing it as her place in history.
She is at heart a hard brexiteer.
This conference will be about limitation of reputational damage to herself, and that only.
This will involve reading a script written for her by someone else, and likely will seek to deflect, obfuscate and blame.

No deal it is then, time for our government to start preparations. She will stay with Chequers even when it has been shot down by her own party and the EU.

Sam Coates, Deputy Political Editor at The Times says there are three likely options for May to deliver:

    1. Say she’s suspending negotiations because she’s run out of road to force EU rethink

    2. Suddenly change position & say shes not going to sign up to the NI backstop and ramp up no deal planning

    3. Ramp up linguistically but without substance

She has stated that there is no way they are going agree to the backstop. So even though she agreed to it in December, she now says it is totally unacceptable.

The tone is just so far beyond what I had expected.

what she's saying here is entirely for the home audience

this is it - no deal

what a total and utter disappointment

This video is going to kill any sympathy Europe had left for the UK.

    Sterling in free fall.

t.b.h. I hope brexit continues and they will actually make a border.
The other issue we are having is anything related to the Republic which don't seem to understand they are living in the UK now, see themselves as Irish but still take money from the UK.

Can't watch it currently, what's going on?

Rejected backstop something something roses in the garden?

    hmm, not accellerating yet.

She is pissed at being humiliated yesterday. She is also an idiot. She still thinks the EU hasn't said what the issues are. But her sentence before this was about respecting that the EU cannot accept anything that will threaten the EU just as the EU cannot expect the UK to accept a border between NI and GB.

So she knows the EU cannot compromise on the four pillars, but that is exactly what she is asking for. She has lost it.

    legitimacy of the referendum?

the same referendum based on Russian money, lies, falsehoods and disinformation..

    the legitimacy of that referendum?

    we're through the looking glass

She said what she wishes she had said yesterday.

Now everyone can get back to talking as usual.

Just her saying no to everything and attacking the EU for rejecting proposals without detailed reasons and counter-proposals.

Lots of No Deal talk. I've never been so convinced that is going to happen.

Basically, Irish Sea border rejected, so no crumbs of comfort for Dublin.

Er...if she's saying that the republic is in the UK etc, she's lost her few remaining marbles. What?

I'm sure there will have been plenty Sterling shorted by the usual suspects this morning

How utterly depressing. What a terrible speech. Whining, calling the EU buliles etc.

Jebus, the UK are lead by a disaster

    Sorry.
People from the Republic who are living in the UK and keep saying that NI is IRE instead of recognizing its actually just the UK.

It is absolutely shocking. It feels like satire.
