    Register with Garmin.
Download the mobile app or Garmin express for your pc.
Link the device via bluetooth or cable and it will step you through the process.

We can't link the device via Bluetooth. It comes up device not found. He had a Garmin forerunner 25 before this

Uninstall the app - try again, put the phone in bluetooth pairing mode.

    What device is he using?

I have a 235 and it’s hard to connect to my iPhone most of the time. I find if you turn on bluetooth on your device and then watch and open the app, if it’s not connected at this point, close out of the app completely (i.e on an iPhone double hit home button and swipe up on app to close it). Then open app again and it will be connected. This is the process I have to go through every time and it works. It’s a bit of a pain though!
