I'd love to know what capacity that engine is versus what's on the logbook. I'm guessing the engine/gearbox are from a Celica or Altezza.

It's a 1.8 if it's 2ZZ-GE as per the add. Wouldn't be from an Altezza. Likely a Celica as you say or even a Corolla. A corolla T sport donor perhaps, clocks etc out of the same yoke :)

I seen that corolla posted to Facebook a few days ago.

Nice to see something done that was clearly just done for the craic no heed on looks or whether it makes financial sense.

The needs a lambda sensor and maf are a bit of a red flag though. Highly likely the car is in a form of limp mode or going into such a mode from time to time if they need replacing. The 2zz will not engage lift if this is the case.

It's pretty inexcusable to not have issues like this sorted before sale.

    Insurance would be biggest issue.

That's why you don't tell them. That's usually the way you do it with a car like that.

I'd say it handles like a shed if there was no upgrades done to suspension etc.

A t sport corolla is nothing special handling wise either

Think the seller is in some form of relationship with their car.

Seems odd to only have half leather in such a high end car?

Lovely exterior colour but I can't do black interiors (leather or otherwise!)

I also know colour isn't the reason you buy this car ;)

Think a lot of Audi’s come with leather as standard and that half suede/leather is an upgrade

Cheers. Seems odd but it's not a manufacturer I ever considered so I wouldn't be up on it.

Most “leathers” aren’t leather anymore anyway. Lot of the standard stuff is that artico crap.

They wouldn't even know even if they inspected the car.

I'd like to get this off my chest. How do garages produce ads that are as **** as this ?

    https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/lookaudi-q2-1-6-tdi-116-s-line-plusrare/24303237

Apart from the Ad, it looks like a pretty decent car... No?

They wouldn't even know even if they inspected the car.

Don't be so sure. It's a basic enough paperwork check.
A near fatal accident locally near me last year has one of the drivers in a spot of bother after the car was inspected by the Garda Accident Investigation Unit. They listed a raft of anomalies in the car including an engine swap.

Looks cheap for the year...any experi3nced eyes out there?

    60 Bhp GTI? Sounds legit.

I stuck a 535i badge on my 520. Gave me an extra 140 bhp :pac:

It could have been worse, gti dreaming on a low budget. You'll be wide awake once it gets moving.
Those wheels do no favours for the small engine and ride comfort. And it's an import too, speedo in mph only.

Might be a lookalike but it still looks good.

In fairness, the ad doesn't claim it's a GTI.
And it's priced well enough for what it is.

Shame none of the GTI upgrades made their way inside the car. Hate seeing cars done up to the nines on the outside, and basic spec interiors.

Looks pretty good, would make a nice little first car

Just a more modern version of Go Faster Stripes.

A real one would remove the badges to reduce the chance of joy riders.
