    Thats amazing.

I love seeing projects like that.

I love the idea that somebody woke up one day and said "You know what would be deadly, a tiny French car with two 3 litre V6 engines in it".

And then they went out and actually built the thing.

    Quality.

I'd say the conversations attempting to insure it would be...interesting.

    "Any modifications?" "Well.............."

As stated, modified car insurance is available by many insurance companies in the uk. So I imagine that, once you have the likes of an engineers report. It isn't as difficult as you think.

Here would be a different story, you mention a 3 inch muffler or lowering springs and generally, they lose their sh1t on the other end of the phone..

Haha, reminds me of the time I was looking for quotations for the MR-S I once had. Explaining that I used an alternative removable hard top roof was extremely difficult when it came to answering the any modifications question.

Heaven forbid you would need to explain you have forged pistons or uprated your dump valve.

Then if you crashed with the hardtop on the car, your insurance would probably be void if you didn't declare it..

I firmly believe that insurance staff should undergo training for insuring mods/quoing modified cars. Or even some sort of database that enables the ill-informed to add certain mods to a policy by a click of a computer mouse.. I can always dream I guess!!

Heaven forbid you would need to explain you have forged pistons or uprated your dump valve.

You'd be as well to be speaking mandarine! :pac:

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I'm struggling to think who that might be for

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,974 ✭✭✭selectamatic

Has to be a proper road going drift car to back up them looks...

Needs at least 300bhp whether that be from a turbo, a v8 or an s54 etc.

You'd have to wonder what sorta rust was cut out and hidden by them wide arches too.

I'm a big fan of wide kits, big spoilers etc but I think that car needs a lot more mods to pull off that kind of kit but the rubber seal around the kit makes it look a lot worse. I'd imagine this is what he was going for

I really like those pandem kits... I like it but yeah as one other poster mentioned... it’s probably hiding the world of rust.

I dunno.. they are a very pretty car and only 5 odd years from classic status as far as tax is concerned.
They were that price 13 years ago as I nearly bought one for a friend.
They are genuinely rare now and a lot more pleasant than the likes of a Corolla/Astra/Escort/Megane etc of that era.

    They aren’t that powerful though, think they’re 86bhp. Which isn’t great for a 1.5

I wanted to buy one as my first car 20 years ago but couldn’t get insurance on it.

I think it’ll probably sell for close to asking.

People that advertise a car and dont put a picture up of the interior need to be taken out and shot in the face.

The NCT is out on that 323f since January. It looks very tidy on the outside but rust is the big enemy of old Mazdas so could be something in that.

Agree with all there except lumping e10 and e11 corollas in along with the escorts and astras.

Corollas, civics and some offerings from France (the 306 in particular) were a sizeable cut above those two.

Fresh test and a fiver change from €10k

A lot of car for the money

She is lovely. Lot of car for small money.

But one only for the brave.

Jesus imagine trying to do even simple work on that engine. No room for your hands never mind a spanner or ratchet also in your hands.

The interior looks lovely, hasn't aged at all.

Those always remind me of a halibut for some reason.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,255 ✭✭✭Oops!

How much were they new here?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,472 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

The auto box on the older ones like that are supposed to be a dog.
    Automated manual box yoke.

They would have been over €100k here anyway, there wasn’t a dealer as far as I know, only in Belfast?

The cost to fix anything that goes wrong is eye watering i'd say...

A colleague had one about 5 years ago from new, the worst year cost him 14k in various bills. Horrifically unreliable but I'd love one.
