A very unexpecting looking 335d in pretty much SE guise. Not mad on the alloys but love it otherwise.

Mad money for a soon to be 8 year old car with a very undesirable spec.

I take it you had "egg on your face" with the corolla? I thought you were selling the e90?

Yep! Egg all over my face on that one!

Yeah it’s up for sale, can’t show it at the moment although a lad from the area is interested in it tomorrow. It’s kind of a thing if I don’t get what I want for it I’ll just keep it.

Seen on Facebook. 16,500km on the clock but who knows how many times it has seen that mileage.

Suppose your paying for the engine though. If it was a 318d it would probably be 10k cheaper if not more. In saying that if I was looking at a 3.0 id probably settle on a 30d.

Here's an e90 335d that's up for sale as well.

However the important thing to note is not what they are up for sale at but rather what they actually sell for.

Bizarre that Suzuki decided against officially selling them here. Reminds me of a Land Cruiser J40 or shrunken G Wagon. A cool little car.

CO2 motor tax meant it was never realistic to sell them here. Manual is 178 meaning €750 annual tax, while the auto is 198 and €1200. Mental money for a little 1.5 engine.

Any opinons on this dealer and car. Was going to wait until the new year before purchasing as dont really need a car until then, but this is tempting me.

Is it too soon to say these will be a future classic? Desirability and scarcity!

Would you reckon that's just because it's not as desirable, compared to your more common hot hatches? i.e. Golf GTI, Focus ST, Type R Civic etc etc?

Honestly don't know. It has a bit of a girly image which possibly doesn't help matters. The Golf, Focus and Civic would also have much longer established reputations so would be seen as a safer bet to purchase, and subsequently easier to sell on later.

That's probably it! I do think it is pretty cool though!

Interior looks to be exceptionally cheap and fragile for a €40k car.

  • Registered Users Posts: 181 ✭✭Austmcc

Absolutely crazy. They should be in the 25 to 30k bracket. To think you could head to another cork dealer and buy this for a similar price...

I'd definitely have the i30 over the Polo any day. Crazy price at 40 grand for that.

Every VW is way over priced all the way through their range right up to the commercials, that is a prime example of it.

They are a nicer product a lot of the time too though.

Not necessarily saying the Polo is worth 40k at the same time.

Not really... Even their base spec stuff is too expensive. And they sure ain't the bomb proof German engineering they advertise. Nothing is these days.

Too expensive is a perspective thing.

I always would have assumed the same in fairness to you but i would say their product generally is worth the shade extra. I would agree reliability is middling.

Even boggo stuff. The fit and finish is good, the cars look good. There is a bit of cleverness to them. The brand is desirable. I think they are well positioned price vs product. They know they aren't the cheapest, they don't claim to be. They are a bit nicer and few quid more for it.

Like if you get out of a Golf 7 or definitely a Golf 8 and into a Focus or i30 it's easy to see where your extra is going. Maybe it doesn't justify all the extra, particularly with the Golf 8 but they are a nice car.

Biased, i have 2 Golfs but 5 years ago i wouldn't have had one for love nor money. Now i see what all the fuss is about :pac:

Is that the only reason you're biased?

Meh, golfs never did a thing for me. Not even GTI’s but I took a golf R for a spin last year and it ticks all the boxes...now I wait for the impending recession so I can afford one!

Interiors on all golfs are rubbish. Plastic for days and those "premium" tartan seats are from the last century.

They feel like a rolls to me coming from an e90!

Even by Donedeal standards, this must be one of the worst put together ads I've ever seen.

    Firstly...

    NTcxMzU5NDYwYmYxYTcyNzdjNTMyNjlkZTRjOWQxNDZsFRYxavJwxQAz34vbX5r3aHR0cDovL3MzLWV1LXdlc3QtMS5hbWF6b25hd3MuY29tL2RvbmVkZWFsLmllLXBob3Rvcy9waG90b18xNjAzOTE4MzZ8fHw2MDB4NjAwfHx8fHx8fHw=.jpeg

    Then there's this ....
    Clean car inside and out
Car us very well looked after

    and on the next photo....
    MTc4MmI0ZGY4M2UyYmJmYjE3YjRkMTJiODc0Yzc5ZDMTsOjNBzvOzIjkyUEwczx4aHR0cDovL3MzLWV1LXdlc3QtMS5hbWF6b25hd3MuY29tL2RvbmVkZWFsLmllLXBob3Rvcy9waG90b18xNjA0MDc3MTR8fHwxMjAweDEyMDB8fHx8fHx8fA==.jpeg
