    It will probably outlive you

But so will a mid 2000s one you can pick up sub 10k.

Imagine the garage you could have with the change.

While I agree that one from the mid noughties will also outlive us, you won't get a good one for sub 10k unless it's a distressed sale. Anything in good condition is still low to mid teens. ;)

"No timewasters", they look like something you would find on an archaeological dig at Dunsink Lane...

He didn't waste any time selling himself anyway.

I dunno, there are lads exporting these, and others looking for parts - so they’re still worth a few quid. Don’t see any issue, maybe they could have been pulled out of the ditch or had a quick trim for the photos.

    Definitely.
That td carina is worth 5-600 maybe even a shake more if it can drive out of there.

The petrol yokes clear over 200 these days I think.

Good money to be made breaking the e10 wagon too if a man had the patience.

I doubt that Carina E is turbo... 96? Maby im wrong... I've only seen 97 and 98 TD Carina E's.

I think it was only the facelift Carina E that the diesel gained a turbo. That one is a pre facelift.

    It’s registered as a 2.0 D XL

And what an engine that was... Had a 94 one years ago, one owner from new before me. Just over 650,000 mls on the clock, local taxi man, engine was never out of it or the head off... Minded it like a child and it showed. I nct'd it around 2003 and sold it on again...

Wonder how long it lived for....

    Well spotted.

Straight diesels go for about 250-350 depending on demand.

Had a 96 Carina E D-Turbo Executive back in the Day, beautiful Car that had every extra including ABS! Traded into Al Hayes where she stayed!

Had a 94 XLI Lean Burn before that and a 90 Carina 2 before that....

    Absolute dream machine

Yeah, that's cool. I dont think €8k is even too crazy. If you bought it for 7500 you'd never not get your money back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,079 ✭✭✭✭Duke O Smiley

They seem to be selling for that sort of money anyway. These two were the same money more or less and seem to have sold within days

Original Irish 1.8 T Sport Yaris, interesting little yoke

I'd say there must have been a single figure number of these sold here new

Have seen the odd one, i think they are really nice but never driven one or anything. I'd say they are alright to go.

Dont know is that worth the smell of 2.5k though, he can say what he wants, that's tasty enough damage to the quarter panel and you could put a goldfish in the disc holder.

I'd say if that was only small cosmetic damage it would be fixed already. Its the damage you may not be able to see I'd be concerned about.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,974 ✭✭✭selectamatic

A newer version of the 1zzfe 140 not sure what the exact engine code is off the top of my head.

Toyota Celica Sports M 200bhp but to be honest that would be on Jap fuel. Still a nice enough of a yoke.

It's cool, very cool IMO. You would struggle to give away a JDM 190 model even with a fresh test, it's the most unloved generation of Celica. Does a clatter or TRD bits and a production number make it worth all that extra? Maybe, but i wouldn't be holding my breath for it if he cant even wash it for a few decent pictures.
