There as a Golf R32 going around as a van before.

I can understand a R32 as you will be taxing it for far less than you would on cc based rates which is why a lot of them were converted over the years.

Yeah I’ve seen some of those for sale before, mk4 and mk5. There was something mad posted here a few months back with €333 tax. It was some Japanese coupe type thing. Was very funny

There's also a MK4 Supra going around commercialised

Saw a lad at a cars and coffee last year with an RS6 taxed as a commercial. 4.2 v8 insured for 333 a year.

It was older than 2008, so quite the saving each year.

Man, what an operator. Savage car, barely any road tax + massive appreciation, the dream.

    Anyone looking for a "Cheyenne"?

The mx5 is cool. Would be a fun yoke.

Alex from CarThrottle on YouTube has a lovely one with the same setup. You can see the whole build on there. Worth a look if you have not seen it already.

Used to have a z32 commercial myself - never got around to putting it on the road and it's now on vintage tax and owned by another boardsie.

I was honestly expecting it to be a lot cleaner before I clicked the link especially since it was one owner. Never parked in a shed in all those 31 years.

Yeah, I would be surprised if the oil has ever been changed in it.

Elderly owner seemingly living in a wooded area in the Wicklow hills somewhere, I suppose you sort of have to expect it (the car) to be a bit green in places.

A 30 year old Corolla with that sort of mileage could be a little gem. I’d love to tidy it up

The photos are terrible, but from what’s available it actually looks really straight and tidy under the grime.

A fella that buys a new car and keeps it for 31 years might be the type to maintain it.
We had one identical to it in the 90s and it was in worse nick!

I like the fact that it still has the period number plates. I’d say it would tidy right up as long as there isn’t any terminal rot.

AGS had those Corollas in that navy blue back in the day too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,472 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

Navy was by far the most popular colour on them.

I know the sellers are Saab specialists and should know a good example, but 16k seems like crackpipe asking price?

It looks mint and is very rare but I don't think even the most devoted Saab head would pay that sort of money for it.

Fun fact - that 9000 shared alot of DNA with the Alfa Romeo 164, Fiat Croma and Lacia Thema.

Just goes to show you can't leave a car parked up any oul shed and expect it to stay mint.

Was it crashed into the shed.....

    The front is in bits.

I didn't even look at the other 2 pictures until I seen your post and went back to look. Yea front is wrecked even though he says bodywork is good in the ad description.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,278 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

The only thing good about that bodywork is the rear number plate.
