Can’t figure this one out. Seems to be taxed on cc rates as opposed to taxi -a years tax is worth €514. I’ve checked and it’s taxed til the end of April 2019 so 10 months left.

Tax due May 2019 according to carsireland, just putting my own reg into CI it lists tax valid till August 2018 (the disc is 7/18) so the disc on the Avensis will actually read 4/19.

I'd guess its a PSV tax disc and the taxation class has since been changed

It's an exhausted looking yoke though.

Fairly rare F10 535d for sale despite the guy in the video claiming it was a 520d:

What puzzles me a bit is the first owner ticked a fair few extras on it including the rare led headlights yet didn't bother upgrading the idrive to the wide screen Pro Nav.

It was said on the Post a Pic of your Car thread, but the widescreen really makes a huge difference aesthetically

Well, the ad is in Tipp. It could have left Donegal after 6 months in 2007.

Impressive mileage and the car doesn't look too worn aside from the driver seat, there isn't even a hole in the carpet.

I'd say the owner knows that now is a good time to jump ship though with the test nearly up.

I noticed that, and shur, the original owner could have sold it the very next day, but it's more likely it was sold after a considerable time in the North West. May be totally irrelevant as the shocks, bushings etc. are most likely changed numerous times since. Impressive mileage in fairness.

There's another 400k in that! What a find

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,843 ✭✭✭✭bear1

One of my first cars was a 93 salmon coloured corolla.
Got it for free and the only issue I ever had with it were both the cv boots failed. 20 euro later and it was back on the road.
Surprisingly nippy and good on fuel.
    Great yoke to go.

That Corolla takes me back. Funny looking radio in that one. Thought the came with a Kenwood originally.

Yeah its definitely not familiar, I'd guess just a nondescript replacement for whatever reason.

The whole car really screams Priest/nun's car!

That’s a Blaupunkt ACR3250. Probably came out of a mini.

I had a 97 one of those Corollas, was a xli plus which had "extras" like central locking and cool white backlit speedo and rev counter. Definitely had a more modern Kenwood stereo than the one in that car.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,485 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

I sold a cleaner 96 non “plus” model 12 years ago (incidentally with similar service history and one owner) for less money than that, it had a Kenwood stereo too, but not the quick release one the earlier ones had.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,327 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

I remember those quick release stereos in the Carina II my father had, the front bezel of the stereo used to pop off as an anti theft feature. You got a little box holder for it too. I think most people either didn't bother or just put the bezel into the glove box.

I remember too that they brought out a special edition Corolla hatchback around 95 called the Ceres which came in one or two exclusive colours that were in fashion at the time, I think everyone that bought one went with the Cyan colour but I think I seen one in lavender once too. They got nicer fabric seats also but not sure what else they got that the normal one didn't have. Back then central locking or power mirrors were rare in that class of car.

With the ones in the earlier Corollas you’d flip a handle up and actually slide the stereo out! There were no plugs to line up or anything.

Obviously will sell quite easily, being on carsireland and being a €58k private sale.

I’d say he’s trying to sell for pretty much what he paid for it.
I think the too much power line is a bit of a tall tale. You don’t stumble into buying a 530d by mistake and then fit black grilles too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,327 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

Too powerful? They have a lovely bit of power alright but the way the seller is talking you would swear it was a M5 they were selling.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,166 ✭✭✭kindalen

And probably financed to the hilt. Probably be a bargain there in a few weeks for anyone able to sort through the overpriced nonsense and sort that sort of money for a private sale.

    Aren’t they around €75k new?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,079 ✭✭✭✭Duke O Smiley

The ad kinda reads like he/she walked into a dealership and said "I have €xx, what can you give me" and signed for the first car put in front of them.

But, nearly 2k on a 19 year old 2.5td 1080e a year to tax and no NCT stationwagon?
    Am I missing something here?

Yes it's a rare bus at this stage.
The V6 petrol would be more sought by most (enthusiasts and drift monkeys alike) but I'd love the diesel.

    Saw that while browsing yesterday
Middle eastern spec for sure. I had a rolls royce from kuwait a while back and it had velour seats too.

    They drive on the Right?
Speedo is in miles and it would strike me as strange that countries like that would settle for the 3.0 considering they piss fuel.
