Anyone know total match games in the Anderson/Isner match?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,372 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Djokovic has gotten to at least deuce in every Rafa service game so far.

Why does closing the roof favour Djokovic? I don't really know anything about the different conditions, apart from some players are better on different court types (i.e. Nadal on clay) so how does the roof / indoors change things?

No wind. Dead air. Surface becomes more like an indoor hard court, which Djokovic is king of.

Ah found it eventually 99 games

Had a bet on at 41/1 that all SF games combined would go to 111. Sweet.

    7/6 6/7 6/7 6/4 26/24

    99 total games played.

Ah Rafa, he had to take a shot on one of those rather then lob, lob, lob and pray for a **** up.

Djokovic hasn't been king of anything in two years.

The way Djokovic is playing, this will be over before 11. Totally in the zone out there. Nadal seems very flat

    Novak totally switched off

Why do I hate cockavic, Don't know him, never met him but I can't stand him.

Just want him to loose every time I see him??

    Mad

This version of Djokovic is king of indoor tennis.

I think for Anderson, this couldnt be a better other semi final. These two lads are going to knock seven sorts of sh1t out of each other. This one is going to penalties:pac:

For me it was the endless whinging and quitting earlier in his career.

I also suspect his drugs are better then all the other lad's drugs. Although whoever wins here will definitely be on better drugs than Anderson.

Maybe you're jealous because he can spell.

Go Rafa. First set was just a warm up. He looks very determined.

You'd think I'd learn not to underestimate Nadal.

    Phenomenal set from him.

Only one of his service games hasn't gone to deuce.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,551 ✭✭✭EagererBeaver

This is turning out to be every bit as good as anything they produced 5-7 years ago. Really high standard and Nadal starting to hit a few winners.

Nadal been on the wrong end of some really shocking incorrect calls so far. That one at deuce was at an awful time and the one the umpire wrongly corrected earlier was appalling.

    Great stiff so far.

Not much job satisfaction for the ball boy holding Rafa's towel!

Does Rafa normally sweat a swimming pool? Have missed all his matches so far.

So I guess I'm the only one on here supporting Djokovic then?

Umpire is having an absolute 'mare on the corrections here. I'm watching on my phone and could see that serve was a foot wide!

Any idea how late this will go on? 11P.M?

They'll be called to stop then. AE Club only licensed to that time.

I'd imagine there's some serious heat with the roof closed!

The closed roof, slows the court down and increases humidity, which favours Nadal not Djokovic I reckon.

They've both held their service pretty comfortably for the last 4 games.
Have they given up contesting each and every point or is it that they've found their serving range by this stage of the match?

Indoor 100% favours Djokovic. Great standard of tennis in this set and last

Sorry if this has been posted before. Too lazy to go through the thread tbh.

But I'm really annoyed with how this has played out 5 hours of one semi final...the next one starts at what...7pm? Play can go on to 11. The court will be wrecked for the women's final tomorrow.

Then you have the semi finals now, if it goes in until tomorrow, which looks likely, one of them will have to play in the final on Sunday.

Surely they'll have to start confining matches on the centre court?

To start a semi final so late, with the prospect it might spill over to the next day and then have the final on the third day, should they consider having the mens semi finals at the same day on outside courts?

You'd wonder alright. Novak was always getting beat, couldn't break into the top 2/3 and then he covers ground like peak Nadal. Hard to believe it's just hard work anyways..

Nadal's girlfriend is unbelievably good looking

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,239 ✭✭✭Pussyhands

I also have to point out it's incredibly unfair for the women to get the same prize money as the men.

Williams took just over 1 hour to win her semi final yesterday. Ridiculous and unfair for the men.

If we are going down this road, Nadal is the last person I’d be using as a baramoter. Plenty of questions surrounding him too.

There are serious question marks over every dominant tennis player tbh, male and female.

    FFS...

Unless you have any kind of proof then remove that...scandalous baseless accusation..

    Mods?

Nadal seems to be a lot more comfortable playing to the backhand at the minute. Was noticeably avoiding it earlier.

Read some of the literature on the matter, "pal."

Also, buy dictionary and look up the meaning of the words "suspect," "accusation" and "baseless."

    Your post has been reported...

    No need for dictionaries...

    And it’s “buy a dictionary!”

The blonde one, that's his sister btw.
    Two very classy looking ladies.

You get the feeling that Nadal is going to grind the joker down.

Momentum with nalad going into this tie breaker. Djokovic playing a lot of loose shots in this set
