    Hi guys.

This is gonna go against the grain here, but I've no issue whatsoever with Eir. I've always found their staff to be curteous, obliging, and helpful.

In my living room, I've 78mb download speed over wifi. Happy with that.
However, out in the dining room where the laptop is, I get <5mb download.

Without using homeplugs (which I'd use as a last resort), is there any sort of wifi booster that you can provide/recommend to bring up speeds?

Total first world problem I know. But I'd rather keep the laptop out of the living room if possible.

    Thanks.

I dont know how techy you are but that's a mega drop.  What are you using in LR to get 78mb and have you tried laptop in LR?  This would give you an idea of what the laptop is capable of.   You should check the wi fi on laptop and see if its 2.4 or 5g channel.  5g is fast but  no range.  How old is laptop?

Then I got this for quite a few people and it works a treat.

    Cheers swoofer.

I got 78 in the LR using the laptop. Then brought it back out to the DR, and it drops way off.

Don’t know how to check if it’s 5 or 2.4 I’m using on the laptop. It’s probably 4 or 5 years old at this stage, but was fairly top spec when I bought it.

Cheers for the recommendation from Amazon.

    Hi Soarer,

Thanks for contacting us here and for the positive feedback :)

I'm sorry to hear this. I'm afraid we don't offer a booster other than our homeplugs.

There are helpful tips on our website that may help you with boosting your speed - https://www.eir.ie/support/support-tutorials/Boost-your-broadband-speed/

Alternatively, you can contact our support team on 1890 260 260, they'll troubleshoot with you to identify the issue. They can advise you on all from there.

    Thanks

    Tracey
