Is anyone aware of where in Dublin one can donate or recycle an old bike, particularly if it benefited a good cause/charity?

Ballyogan have stopped taking them, now they go into the metal recycling bin.

as they were explaining to me in the ballymun rediscovery centre, they were overflowing with bikes and a lot were not worth restoring.
especially heavy old 'mountain bikes' with suspension forks where everything was rusted.

You could try this method (skip to 1.15)

Thanks very much all for the suggestions. Yeh it does seem like a lot of previous places have stopped now. I've filled out the form on cycle-it so will see if there's any response (no recent activity on their pages). I'd definitely welcome any other suggestions in the mean time.

I'd like to know too. Have two old bikes in the shed that haven't been used for over 15 years and they're just in the way.

Pop anything up for free on Adverts.ie and it’ll be snapped up in no time, and I mean anything!

Try freecycle, https://groups.freecycle.org/group/DublinIE/posts/all Not specific to bikes, but I've had various bits and bobs re-homed this way, including three older kids bikes.

That is a fact. Yet try to sell something for €2 and you will never shift it.
