Are nothing but shills for the map industry.

Cartographers and map publishers get paid by the size of the area they've surveyed and sometimes by the detail on the map.
The imaginary county of Leitrim might be small, but when it appears in millions of maps and surveys those in power stand to make millions from the few extra square kilometres.

It might seem unprofitable to pay so many shills now but if they are found out they will need to pay back billions in ill-gotten fees.
Since "Leitrim" is so small though, they only need a few vocal shills to maintain the illusion.
The shills salaries are paid by the interest made on investing their billions in past fees. Even if every shill made 100k a year ( a good wage for lying your way through life) the total salary bill would only be a fraction of the interest recieved.

Think about it. Have you ever actually seen Leitrim? Oh yeah maybe you drove past a sign saying 'welcome to Leitrim' but that sign could just be placed anywhere. How did you know you were actually IN Leitrim? What evidence did you have other than an easily placed man made sign.
The lie is insidious, so effective is the brain washing that people will gladly tell you the earth is flat, but, in the same breath declare unashamedly and vehemently that Leitrim is an actual place!
    Wake up!!

It's like a black hole, you can only see the damaging effect it has on its surroundings.

This thread should be in the Philosophy forum as it has a multitude of inferences from Plato's Cave Allegory to Maigrett's “Ceci n'est pas une pipe” .

Population density though. Big county = more money in : Low density = less shills needed

If Leitrim didn't exist then Donegal would have a land border with the Republic

What about this fella?First Irish person to be deported from Ireland.

Coincidentally in another post earlier today I had suggested that some Irish fella be deported to Leitrim. Cancel it out so it would.

I was at a Pecker Dunne concert in Leitrim back when Pecker was still with us.

Was lovely intimate gig at an old mill.

Pecker had great time for the county.

Himself and Mary used to winter there in their caravan.

    They were a lovely couple.
