If you’re playing 3 ATB can’t see the benefit in Zanka. Would go Zanka -> Wan Bissaka and then upgrade Ederson to DDG.
Not sure on Chelsea or Arsenal defence also been posted here previously that Emery likes to rotate his full backs plus they have horrible opening fixtures. I’d look at getting in a city defender preferably Mendy. Lovren won’t play first week/two at least either.
Think there are better midfield options out there instead of Mili & Grob - look at Siggy/Richarlison & Jota (OOP potentially)
Considering you don’t have Salah you want your midfield to be a lot more stacked than that or have Kane although I do like your front line.

Just spotted Josh King is 6.5
One to monitor if I go for B.B. squad
Forward line would be Arnie zaha king
That could go horribly horribly wrong LOL

    Thanks,

Changed Tomkins --> Wan Bissaka, to save 0.5, instead of Zanka. As that would have given me 2 defenders and a keeper from a single team.

    Changed Mili --> Richarlison

Even as a United fan, I wouldn't be wishing ill on any footballer

its fantasy football lad, a game. Salah's price is really restricting creativity in team line ups.

Currently now thinking of just setting up for first 3 weeks then WC, there is too much uncertainty between the post WC players and transfers

    3 week team :

    Fab / Foster
    Shaw Robertson Keane
    Salah Sane Sanchez Richardislon
    Gray Tosun Firminio

With Zaha seemingly in form, have decided to ditch Vardy and upgrade the defence:

    Begovic
Fabianski - A good rotational pair

Azpilicueta - Reliable for goals & assists
    Alexander-Arnold Cheap Liverpool defensive option
    Sokratis - Excellent Bundesliga performer
Cedric - Should start most games
Wan Bissaka - Cheap Palace starter

Milovojevic - Depends on whether on pen duty
    Salah - Indispensable
Sane - Should be fresh, given WC absence
Neves - Filler, but excellent for Wolves last season
    Richarlison - Good rotational option

    Zaha
    Aguero
Arnautovic - All in form in preseason.

With Mane possibly being on pens I am facing a serious Richarlison & Firmino vs Mane & Zaha conundrum :confused:

Leaning towards the latter right now as maybe Bobby might take a couple of games to get up to speed after coming back later?

I'd be leaning towards Firmino and Richarlison. Although, I have Salah as well so maybe that's why. I'm unsure of Zaha as well though, especially now that Ings is a potential signing.

The conundrum I'm having at the moment is picking two from Auba, Aguero, or Firmino? On Auba and Aguero at the moment.

    PVA
    Coleman

Think I am settled on the below even though I am not happy with my defence

Ederson (Need city coverage somewhere in defence)

    Cedric (Solid)
Robertson (Liverpool's defence should be more solid and he does get forward)
    Daniels (Reg starter)

    Neves (Still not sure)
Salah (As almost everyone has him, I can't risk not having him)
Sane (Full pre-season and should start with all guns blazing)
    Sessegnon (Again, not sure)

Firmino (Only concern is he might not play first 2 or 3 games)
    Aubameyang (Expecting big things)
Arnautovic (Has had a great pre-season)

    Fabianski
Ogbonna (Want to see how solid West Ham are before I start him)
    Stephens (Fodder)
    Malone (Absolute Fodder)

Thanks Wilberto - I have Salah too so maybe him & Mane is too samey, and you are right about Ings making Zaha less attractive, that could be the decider alright and help make up my mind.

I currently have Auba and Firmino (with Arnie) myself - Kun just seems like too much of a rotation headache, especially when I am probably going to captain Salah most games anyway. Also he is not back in preseason games yet afaik so I figured even if he does start the first game or so he may be taken off early if to ease him in.

I’m going right back to the drawing board next week
Don’t think I’ll be risking an Everton defender /coleman
Or any united defender . So I may well have less funds in defence as per usual.
Also based on all the evidence so far I can’t justify a massive outlay on united midfielder ..........
Finding it very hard also to go without a premium forward ...........
    So in conclusion

GerryD yellow flagged on the site this morning.....seen him in a few teams including my own

Head is melted, and I'm sure this team will change completely before the season kicks off or possibly in 10 minutes time.

At the moment giving serious consideration to going without Salah at the start and probably wc gw3 or 4 and using BB gw1.

There could be some serious options in midfield around the 6 to 7 million mark this season, just to pick the right ones.

So for now, I've landed on something like this

    Fabianski Begovic
    Robertson PVA Cedric Shaw Bennett
    Mane Pedro Sane Jota Richarlison
    Aubamayang Firmino Arnautovic

Both keepers should start barring injury, and if use BB in gw1 will probably change at least one if not both on early wc.

Robertson, PVA and Cedric should all start and have potential to get attacking points. Shaw is another matter but IF fit would expect he will start the first few games for United. Mendy, Coleman and Holding are 3 that are coming into my thinking but not sure I'd be willing to start the season with them.

Midfield, I'd expect/hope all of them to start the season and all are capable of points. Salah had been in every draft I had until last night and Sanchez had been in a few as well. Going without Salah has its risks but with a BB in mind, it improves options to add elsewhere. As for Sanchez, I expect him to have a better season than last year, but it's still a Jose team, and it's hard to imagine United being free flowing and can't see myself starting with any United attacking player.

The attack doesn't need much explanation, for me it will be a straight choice to pick between Auba and Aguero at the start of the season and for now leaning towards Auba. Firmino and Arnautovic could both potentially do well and are reasonably priced.

If any of ye want to pick apart my team or have any suggestions or flat out think it's crazy to consider starting the season without Salah, would really appreciate the feedback

IF Sturridge could find some regular playing time in that pool team he would be huge value at 6m.

Mendy and ederson seem to be the only city defenders people are picking who do we think the rest of the back 4 will be?

Ederson, Walker, Mendy the only reliable ones at this point.

Centre halves, you could perm any two from their 4. Laporte/Otamendi will probably start the first few

    More tinkering...

Any suggestions on how to get a Spurs midfeilder into this squad?

    Ryan Speroni
    Azpilicueta Mee PVA Bellerín Daniels
    Salah Gudmundsson Groß Fernandinho Mooy
    Firmino Lukaku King

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,191 ✭✭✭✭Shanotheslayer

I've noticed Bellerin in a few drafts, any particular reason? He was terrible last season and they play City first game.

Due to most nailed on Arsenal defender?

Surely Lichtsteiner will be competition too.

I'd do Mee to 4.5m/4m defender, Fernandinho to a 4.5m/5m midfielder and then Groß to Son/Alli.

Any chance he plays both? Lichtsteiner as the RB and Bellerin as a RM? Can't see it personally, but I don't know much about the manager myself.

So, my team currently stands like this :

    Ederson (Stekelenberg [4m cheapie])

    Azpi | Robertson | Cedric | Wan-Biss (Peltier)

Salah | Sane | Mkhi | Richarlison (Stephens)

    Firmino | Auba (Madine)

    Aguero > Firmino :
Still unsure about not having Aguero, but Firmino is 1.5m cheaper and should bag a nice price rise early on as well.

    Jota > Sane
As has been said, Sane should definitely start the first few and, after taking Aguero out of the team, I need another way into City's attack. The plan is to replace him with KDB who is only 0.5m more expensive. As for where that .5 is going to come from I've no idea!! :pac:

    Coleman > Cedric
Used the extra million to upgrade to Jota to Sane. Still think Coleman is excellent value at 5.5m though.

A or B? Have Salah and Sane+Mendy, but no Arsenal cover.

    A. Mhiki and Firmino
    B. Deulofeu and Aguero

Deulofeu is yellow flagged if that makes your decision easier.
