Disappointing Shane is not one of the featured groups live on the Opens website. Fowler/Rose and JB/Koepka the selected pairs.

have to resort to sky now.
    FFS

Is this The Open website's usual format, to not show the leading group on the last day? Maybe to get more money from Sky?

10euro for a 1-day sports pass from Now TV. Anyone know of a cheaper legal option for those without Sky TV?

Ahh Rickie why do you always disappoint me on the last day

    Horror start for Fowler.

Will it change when he starts?

It won't. They tweeted their morning and afternoon groups earlier.

lads. a bit of bad news for shane.

but to start Shane hitting worst weather at very end when others in.

slow play could keep him out even longer in it.

Are you being serious? I was in the crowd on Friday and Shane got almost as loud a roar as Rory did. I followed him and didn’t hear one nasty comment; in fact I heard shouts of encouragement from everyone and most had Northern Ireland accents.

Were you there and what did the “locals” actually say?

I was there Thursday and Friday and heard no comments either from the crowd. He seemed to get great support.

Cant see many lads below him shooting below par today. I think a level par round will do it for him.

He won in Baltray in very bad weather. Don’t think he’ll mind it too much as it won’t be windy.

That's a shocking tee shot from JB on the first

Westwood +1 Rahm +2 Fowler +2 after just three holes. Nice boost to Shane

i would have felt like that yesterday.

but shane playing the best golf. very bad weather dulls good form.

paddy was saying as much in his interview.

Jesus lads, don't think I've ever been this nervous watching golf. I'm gonna live and breath every shot with him today.

If you know somebody with sky sports, check the sky go option.

Most lads seem to be struggling with the first. A par would be solid for Shane but imagine the statement a birdie would give.

Stage one completed, accepting the cheers and smiling. Great start before even teeing off.

You just have to get into the zone and blank the bad stuff out.
Think “5 good hours golf and it’s mine”. Feck the weather.

Thanks, but that's the coverage corkboy38 was referring to (on which I had been watching Lowry yesterday) which does not feature him today (apart from when he will go through the 3 featured holes)

Another great reception for Shane on the first.

That was one nervy tee shot!! In bounds and that’s all that matters

    bad shot from shane

Hopefully he doesn’t drop shots early.

  • Registered Users Posts: 177 ✭✭corkboy38

JB looking at a potential treble bogey on the first. it's looking like a straight shootout between Fleetwood and Lowry

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,136 ✭✭✭✭is_that_so

Bad start for second last pair.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,842 ✭✭✭✭bilston

British flags up all over Portrush and surrounding areas, in front of houses etc so they'll be plenty of crusties there hoping he doesn't win it, Hopefully he wins in a land slide just to stick it to them.

    Absolute b******

Lowry is far and away the local favourite.

    Unreal by Fleetwood

Yeah very nervy. Had to avoid the bunker there and didn’t.

  • Registered Users Posts: 177 ✭✭corkboy38

Two bad shots from Shane. Fleetwood with a birdie chance. Potentially a two shot swing already.

  • Registered Users Posts: 673 ✭✭✭Sharp MZ700

Walk out of here with 5 regardless Shane!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,842 ✭✭✭✭bilston

Unlucky with the spin. Very tough par putt to come.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,190 ✭✭✭munsterlegend

Shane was always going to have a dodgy start with all the pressure. Will need a birdie early on to settle him or could be a long day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,922 ✭✭✭Deeper Blue

Crucial bogey putt coming up for Shane here

    Very nervy fleetwood putt there.

    Ok ok

Could have been a three shot swing but just the one. Settle now Shane.

That birdie miss could annoy Fleetwood too
