VW Polo 2002–2009 (9N) - radio upgrade

So I just got a 2009 polo with standard radio/stereo. I want to instal a touch screen that has bluetooth and Apple CarPlay capabilities. Anyone have any experience with doing this?

The only units I have found are on ebay and Im not 100% sure if they will fit or even work. I have no desire for CD/DVD, just want to hook up a phone for music and maybe have navigation maps

Far as I remember, the 9n already has a double DIN sized opening for the stereo, just with a cubby hole filling half of it. So from that point of view it’ll be simple.

Next thing is the unit itself, you will need to do your homework on the eBay systems, or look at units from established brands such as the Pioneer AppRadio range.
You’d be looking approx €350-400 for a unit like this. There are refurbed ones on eBay for €275.

You’ll probably need an adaptor cable too. Around €10-30.
