OK, when was the last time both British and US Opens were successfully defended?
Padraig Harrington and Young Tom Morris were the last one to successfully defend the Open afaik. Don't know about the US Open.

Edit: Actually forgot Tiger, Lee Trevino and Tom Watson did it too. Actually also Peter Thomson dd three n a row. Paddy was the last to do it.

Is it just me or is some of the camera work on tee shots/ long irons atrocious?

Could be position of cameras maybe.

I am watching on an ipad which may make it seem worse

Bit more wind today so guess its making those guys jobs a little harder, they're pretty high up and exposed so doing a difficult job pretty well in the circumstances i'd say.

Nightmare for Kisner. Could be a triple, quadruple, anything...

Not many shots being made early, only Van Rooyen in the red from those inside the T10. And this is the easier part of the golf course. Interesting couple of hours ahead i think.

If Schauflle was to win, would he be first Open winner with an X in his name? Or even major winner?

The important questions being asked now

He wouldn't no, he is Alexander, as is Alexander (Sandy) Lyle. Max Faulkner also won it, although admittedly I did have to google that. Fair chance S. Lyle went on the trophy though so it could be the first X on there in a while.

Never even thought of why Lyle was called Sandy! It all makes sense now

Spieths first dropped shot on the first 14 all week. Some going in fairness.

Tiger's only one behind now. This will be a new experience for Jordan. :)

Odd by Spieth, rare for him to attempt that. Could cost him

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,375 ✭✭✭✭prawnsambo

Jordan going with a fairway wood from the rough with predictable consequences. :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,882 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Jordan Spieth might drop another shot here. Well he's not making it easy for himself anyway.

    A wobble I'd call it.
