Rose just stitched it at 18 for a birdie and 6 under. That's some kind of comeback from just scraping in for the weekend at 3 over! Clubhouse leader!
Has that happened before in a major?

Dont think its happened before, not at the Open anyway. Ewan Murray was going on about George Duncan in 1920 earlier but dont think that was quite of Rose proportions though, assuming Rose was to go on and lift trophy, of course.

Rose should get out to the practice ground and stay loose.

He has posted a nice score and it could be good enough for a play-off.

Rose is some competitor, underrated player I think

Molinari is the guy you always want in your fourball team. :)

Think he'll come up just short, reckon someone will get to 7 or maybe 8

    I don't think he's underrated, he's underachieved if anything!

Rose is worth a second major. Best English golfer since Faldo and for me one major doesn't do his career justice.

Brilliant drive from Rory on the 18th. Game on!

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,350 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Spieth and Schauffle likely to get to -7. Their scores coming into the round could be the breaker

Jaysus how did that not go in.

    BIG mistake by Speith!

Bad approach by Rory on 18 but hopefully he'll sink the birdie ðŸ¦

Too conservative by Rory on that second shot to 18, but what an effort to get in at -6, looked dead and buried after 9.

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,886 ✭✭✭✭Roger_007

    Molinari is a machine!

The 3 putts cost Rory again.

I don't think that it was conservative, it is the way Rory has been playing wedges for a couple of years

Francesco has been playing such good golf for the last few weeks that it’s hard to see past him.

Commentator saying the golf hasn't been as high a standard as yesterday....yesterday was dream-like conditions on a links course, it'll obviously be better

It's got to be his at this stage.

It's links golf at its most dramatic and entertaining. I'm on the edge of my couch!

Good drive on 18 for Molinari and I think it’s his

  • Registered Users Posts: 36,254 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

    Tiger has left this behind.

I know lots of players have been up and down, but he had the momentum, was playing close to perfect golf, and just lost concentration or got careless for 2 holes.

That double bogey at 12 was so easily avoided. Trying to flop that chip short of the hole to run on was silly.

Schauffele is not lying down or going away.
