    Hi,

    We're currently with Bord Gais for dual electricity and gas, and recently out of contract. We are now looking at our options. bord Gais are offering free Hive installation, good % off both supplies, and Tesco clubcard points. Have you an equivalent deal, as currently it looks like €130 for nest, and decent % off both.

    Thank you for getting in touch.

    If you switch to Electric Ireland online and set up direct debit and Electric Ireland Online Billing (instead of receiving bills by post) you will receive a €175 bonus credit to your electricity account, and you will also receive an 8.5% saving off the units used on each bill. A 12-month contract applies for the €175 bonus credit, however the 8.5% bill saving off each fuel will not expire - it is a long-term saving.

    Should you choose to switch to Electric Ireland: as you will see on the switching form we have linked to, there is the option to select Nest. If you choose this, you will not receive the €175 bonus credit. As such, we recommend leaving the Nest option unchecked, waiting until your accounts are registered with Electric Ireland, then availing of the Nest thermostat and gas boiler service bundle on the Electric Ireland Home Energy Services Shop.
