    OP

I saw this video on YT a few weeks back.
Thought it was a brilliant invention to kill all the wasps over a couple of hours.

Basically he put a metal wire on the end of a garden strimmer motor and put it close to the entrance of the wasp nest.

Wasps usually return to a shed or attic at the same spot and around the same time each evening. Use a vacuum cleaner (the extension tube) at that spot, or rig a few fly papers to partially block the entrance point, when it's quiet. Expect to catch a hundred or more before the problem is solved.

If using a vacuum cleaner, squirt some wasp spray at intervals down the tube to kill the captured wasps.

If it's small enough to cover with a plastic bag just go in after dark, put the bag over the nest, seal it around the top of the nest as best you can, pull the nest away, tighten the seal, put all in another bag and either burn it, crush it, or just leave it aside for a few days until the wasps are dead

Starve or burn them. That's pretty grim there.

Tell him there are some Palestinian kids happily playing in the shed. The wasp problem will soon be solved.

Then we’ll have the “A massive bulldozer knocked my shed down and now there’s a load of Israeli settlers living in my garden” thread.

This was in my parents shed a few weeks ago. They are so beautiful to look at!

My dad whacked it with something and binned it.

Nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

OP , they hate ejaculate - ejaculate on them ... stand over the nest and knock one out on the nest, that should do them all in.

We had one a good few years ago and at night I think we burnt it!

You can give them to the ISPCA or they can go to live happily on a farm somewhere.

Begs the question as to why don't we keep wasps as pets? Damn specism so that is ....

I say put an advert up in your local shop looking for homes for them....

Easy to see reading this thread why human beings are the most vicious, selfish, territorial animals on the planet! :)

They're not actually. There are many species much more vicious and territorial. And all species by nature are selfish.

There's some wasp insecticide that when sprayed it turns into a thick foam, it can be sprayed as far as three or four metres away. You may have to give it a few goes. The alternative (but I don't know if it would actually work) would be to use a CO2 fire extinguisher or foam one to spray the nest.

Also, you could ring your local fire station and ask for advice.

    Update ,

The battles been raging the last 24hrs .
I thought , initially , the nest was the size of a tennis ball , turns out it's more the size and shape of a cornflake box.

First off , I gave the wasps the option of drowning themselves in a mix of 7up, sugar, rotting fruit and water.

None drowned , if fact , I think they got drunk on a fermented fruit and water mix.

I then sprayed them with a spray , killing about fifty , I checked last night and the nest was still buzzing.

I checked this morning and silence.

You'd think that was it , I dragged the nest out and they attacked , stinging my hands and neck.

I attacked again and it's silence.

Im stung 4 times and theres about 100 dead wasps in the shed and yard.
