    Im interested in adult art classes, do you know of any or do you host any?

    I’m posting on boards as I’ve noticed there isn’t many (if any?) art classes in Waterford City geared towards adults. I’ve seen a class here and there but they appear to be in specialised areas such as pottery and water colour, for example.

    When I looked on the Waterford Meetup, I noticed that interest is there for creative classes but no groups exist. I’m wondering if that’s due to the monthly credit card fee of setting up a meetup group though. It would be great if there was a weekly or fortnightly class for adults which could be lead by an artist or someone with knowledge and experience. I have a preliminary fee of €5 per class in my head (which depends on location and probably a few other factors).

    I did a fantastic free art class as part of the 2018 Waterford Bealtaine festival which was facilitated by a local artist. The facilitator encouraged us to explore different materials through observing still life objects such as limbs of trees and animal skulls. The exploratory nature of the class meant that it was suitable for all abilities.

    My first question is does anyone know if a class like this exists? Or if it doesn’t, does anybody know of someone who would be interested in facilitating an art class? Finally I ask that if you have interest to please leave a comment below, if we have numbers we could go about finding out how to set a class up.

    Waterford College of Further Education do art classes sometimes. Although there are none currently running I think the next round of classes usually start in September. They have two separate evening classes listed on their website, one in painting and one seems like general art.

    The only problem is that you could wait for applications/payment to open and then be told that there aren't enough people to run the class. This happened to me before. However, it might be what you're looking for.

    Also, The Abbey in Ferrybank runs art classes in September.

    Have you tried drink and draw, I know there's a group in Kilkenny, not sure about Waterford.

    Also if you look on the Irish design and craft council's website, they list art workshops in this area.

    I do know of an artist that holds watercolour classes at her home in Carlow.
