Many of the Chinese stores are upping the price little by little and people are forgetting to look around. For example:
The Pocophone goes on sale often in Germany for anyone looking. Most of the time German sales require an account with something like mailboxde.com (German Virtual Address (Parcel Motel)).

    https://www.ebay.ie/itm/NEU-Xiaomi-Pocophone-F1-128GB-6GB-RAM-Dual-SIM-Unlocked/223228707032
Using code PFIFFIG, that drops to €271 (delivered in Germany) + €11 to Ireland = €282 for 128GB/6GB version
That is compared to €320 for the 64GB version from Amazon UK

    Or using code PHONE50 64GB €274 /128GB €299 + €11 to Ireland
    https://www.notebooksbilliger.de/xiaomi+pocophone+f1+64gb+schwarz+eu/eqsqid/c17209e4-ad04-45a1-8839-1204f93e90e2

It applies to many others too and amazon
    Xiaomi Mi A2 - €195 https://www.amazon.de/gp/offer-listing/B07FMPVBQR/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

    Mi Mix 2S 6GB/64GB - €325 - https://www.amazon.it/gp/offer-listing/B07D4NBDM9/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

Just read through a good bit of the thread, and see the whole band 20 for 4g coverage as a point.

Looking at getting the new Redmi Note 7, but doesn’t support band 20.

    Specs:

    4G:FDD-LTE B1/B3/B5/B7/B8, TD-LTE B34/B38/B39/B40/B41(100MHz)
    3G: WCDMA B1/B2/B5/B8, TDS-CDMA 34/39
    2G: GSM B2/B3/B5/B8, CDMA 1X/EVDO BC0
Navigation and positioning: GPS + AGPS + GLONASS + BeiDou positioning
    Supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac protocols
    Supports 2.4 / 5G WiFi / WIFI Direct / WiFi Display
    Bluetooth 5.0

I’m with Eir and they are B3 and B20.

Is it certain areas? Any maps available of coverage for such.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks.

Global version (with b20) of the Note 7 shouldn't be too far away, 4/6 weeks at a rough guess

It should be good for a couple of years, even after they stop providing updates I would think it would be good for a while.

Does anyone know if anybody who installs custom roms on phones as a paid service? Thinking of buying a Poco but really only interested in buying if I can get Pixel Experience onto it and it all looks a bit too involved for me.

Have you checked done deal or any of the phone repair shops? I asked a lad in the shop to do it and he said they arent covered by insurance but some will do it if you agree to the risk.

I haven't - will give those places a try. Cheers.

Redmi new budget phone is €62 on Banggood and has EU Priority line shipping €7.50 (no extras to be paid).
    https://www.banggood.com/Xiaomi-Redmi-Go-Global-Version-5_0-inch-1GB-RAM-8GB-ROM-Snapdragon-425-Quad-core-4G-Smartphone-p-1421581.html
Xiaomi have priced this at €80, so for less than €70 delivered from a 3rd party store, pretty good. (I think you can also get cashback from topcashback)

Pretty neat. Two sim slots so you still have the hybrid microsd (max 128GB) and nano sim tray. Snapdragon 425, 5 inch display many were looking for. 3.5mm jack, Band 20 and for those unimpressed with the 1GB and 8GB storage, it is running Android Go (Oreo 8.1 Go edition).
    https://www.androidcentral.com/android-go
    Features:

5.0 inch 16:9 LCD HD Display
    Android Go Edition
    Dual SIM, Dual Standby
    Memory: 1 GB of RAM
Internal storage: 8 GB ROM (expandable via microSD to 128 GB)
    64-Bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 425, Quad-core, 1.4 GHz
    8 MP main camera (f/2.0) / 5 MP front camera (f/2.2)
    3000mAh battery
    802.11 b/g/n, BT 4.1
    No contract / No SIM-Lock

Has a @Suckit changed his mind and now linking xiaomi products? I thought he was anti xiaomi and more in with other brands? :)

    Nope, never anti Xiaomi :)
I just thought this thread became a bit of a Xiaomi thread. (By the way, Redmi is now a sub-brand :p)Decent price for it.
I like seeing what else is on offer for same price and especially when others get them. Often better.
Still never got my Vivo, but looking at the Oppo RX17 Neo at the minute.
With more of the big Chinese brands looking at Europe, we may be offered a wider range but prices will probably rise.

Including Xiaomi and Huawei, it would be Vivo or Oppo. The only issue with both is that the choice is limited for phones with band 20.
Meizu, Lenovo and a few others would also feature on a list.
    Oppo with Band 20 https://www.kimovil.com/en/compare-smartphones/f_max_r+value.9,fe_bands-lte-b20-800,name.oppo
    Vivo with Band 20 https://www.kimovil.com/en/compare-smartphones/f_max_r+value.9,fe_bands-lte-b20-800,name.vivo
    Edited:
Smartisan are another even lesser known make over here that have limited band 20 phones, but also are highly rated https://www.kimovil.com/en/compare-smartphones/f_max_r+value.9,fe_bands-lte-b20-800,name.smartisan

Hi, can anyone tell me which phone might be comparable to the xiaomi redmi note 4 in regards size, battery life and price. I have the 4 but a relative is looking for a similar one but it seems they've made subsequent redmi phones a little bigger. Thanks.

I'd throw Oukitel and THL in the mix there too.

    Hi

Hoping someone might help me. I'm on the lookout for a new phone. The key requirement I have is something with a decent camera. I'm not too worried about NFC as it's not something I use. I was looking at the one plus website and see that the 6t is 580. My last two phones have been the plus 1 and 3t. As I tend to get 2-3 years out of a phone I don't mind spending the money. Outside of the OnePlus anything else I should be looking at? Good camera is the main ask I have.

    Thanks
    Conor

Depends on your budget. The Pixel 3 or Huawei P20 Pro have probably the best cameras.
These cameras are reviewed with their faults...
