Poco has a hideous notch and no headphone Jack also nowhere near as good of a battery. Mi Max 4 could be announced soon though:

    https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/01/31/xiaomi-mi-max-4-mi-max-4-pro-full-specifications-and-pricing-leaked/

    you can remove the notch

it does have a head phone jack

the battery on the poco is easily over 24 hours with medium use, though the max 3 has a bigger battery (thus weighs 20% extra)

the poco completely wipes the floor with the processor speed though...

I'm stuck between the max 3 and poco, I've had my eye on the poco for the last 3-4 months but now I'm at the stage where I'm worried it will be out of date within a few weeks if they announce an updated version / f2.

Where are ye seeing good pricing for Max 3, seen the 64g at 228 on banggood but the 128g is over 330 - at that price I'd have to go for teh pocophone, but man I'm vasilating here between both.

Anyone see any good deals/prices on either at the moment?

I got my mi max 3 6gb 128 in January from HK Goldway. All in with expedited shipping it came in at just under the €300 mark.

The one I got from HK Goldway is definitely the global ROM version but they don't seem to have it now.
This is the screen shot from the AliExpress order I did.

Edit: - Think I mixed up devices here, Mi Max 3 instead of Mix is what your talking about?

Global Rom and Global device are two separate things and can be easily confused.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/wiki/mimix3

The global version, I think is only available with 256gb version.

If you receive the Chinese version, with a Global rom, don't LOCK the bootloader as you will brick your device.
Global versions have a red 'Global Version' sticker on the box and most resellers offer both the Global and Chinese versions of a phone when they exist.

It's not available in global version, but it does have band 20 which is usually the reason for buying the global version, and google apps and global rom.

The thing is Xiaomi used to not release Global Versions of the Mi Series as they had all the bands etc.

But then implement a practice of preventing locking bootloader on the Chinese device, when a global rom is flashed.

So also introduced Global Versions of that series as well, but it varies by device.

There may not be a Global Version of Max 3 at this time.

Can some-one with a Global version Mi Max 3 please confirm if it can record calls "natively" (i.e. as an option in settings, not using a separate app)? I gather the feature is nobbled in some Mi phones, notable the Mi A2.

Also can it fit in a man's shirt pocket? :-)

    Thanks in advance.

It can record calls natively and yes it fits in a shirt pocket. Just sticks out a bit. It is a bit weighty mind you. I don't know if I would like to.

Friend looking to get a Mi9, but needs I need ablity to put the invoice in my companies name so he can claim tax back, honour buy doesn't allow this. Anybody able to do it via Eglobal? Or any others?

Hi, I have the redmi note 4x which I need to update. I've liked the phone in terms of size and functionality in general other than the camera which I think is pretty poor. Can anyone recommend a phone similar enough (price/size etc) but would have a better camera? Thanks

I bought a Pocophone from eGlobal and included the company name last year sometime. That said, sometimes when I'm buying things that I need to expense, I'll just include the company name somewhere in the address (e.g. with the name). As long as it's somewhere there it's fine.

I notice the Pocophone F1 (128GB) is there for €291 also. Its listed as the Imported version? Does that mean anything to anyone here. Will it work in Ireland?

Finally ordered the Redmi Note 7.

Free headphones thrown in with pre-order.

Judging on shipping times by others here, should have it next Wednesday.

Shipped from Italy yesterday, arrived today via DHL, in process of setting it up.

Coming from an iPhone 7 so the bigger screen size is noticeable obvious for me.

Anyone order a tidy adapter for it to make it 3 pin or what’s the best option?

Try to source something like this, that has a fuse! <<< Purchase in a B&M if possible.

If the device came with a EU 2 Pin plug?

My Redmi Note 7 won't send or receive SMS messages (calls, data all working fine) on Eir network, full 4g coverage.

    Anyone any idea why?

Did a full google search and tired multiple "solutions" but no luck.

@shmeee How old is your sim card? May need a newer version.

I assume you have check the APN settings are as recommend on the provider's site?

Sim card is only about 2 months old, swapped it out when cancelled my bill pay contract for a new PAYG sim.

The worst thing is I got 2 sms messages last night when I first put in the sim (whatsapp & google) messages with verification codes.

I have turned off and on permission for SMS for messages app and now I could sent a text but none are getting received.

Something in settings I say needs to be tweaked but tricky to find what it is.

Yes APN / Eir settings are correct.

My head is fried trying to decide between the Poco f1 and the Mi Max 3. Anyone else been in the same situation and want to shed light on what one you went for?

I dont buy notches, cant even look at them and wanted to try a big phone so it was an easy choice for me. Do you read comics or books on your phone? I do all day at work sometimes and the Max 3 is insanely good for that, same for browsing websites aswell obviously. I dont use my phone much at the weekend so Im still on 65% after unplugging from my pc at work on Friday afternoon, wont bother charging it tonight either, it'll do until tomorrow evening, its ridiculous. Pocofone is faster but I try most AAA games that get released for Android and the MM3 loads them instantly, nothing bothers it, all emulators working flawlessly up to PSOne aswell, phone doesnt even get warm or seem to use extra battery. So many nice touches to MIUI but you'll probably get them on POCO aswell.

It really comes down to screen size choice, its a big phone obviously, get a sheet of cardboard and draw a rectangle 176.2 x 87.4 x 8 mm (6.94 x 3.44 x 0.31 in) and hold it in your hand and you'll be a bit shocked, then again after a week you wont even notice.

Its a good problem to have, anyone who buys a POCO F1 or MM3 seems to end up happy with it.

    Great camera aswell btw:
