Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Kimi pitting for ultras

Will Hamilton get penalty for that I wonder. Maybe confusion about which Mercedes was being called in

    Jaysus!

    Oh wow Kimi in now

What tyres did Bottas end up with

    Inters I think.

Hamilton shouldn't be let away with cutting out of pit entry like that. Drivers have been punished for that before.

What tyres are Ferrari putting on Kimi's car?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 56,710 ✭✭✭✭walshb

    Vettel steering issue?

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

Hamilton shouldn't be let away with cutting out of or entry like that. Drivers have been punished for that before.

    Bottas has Ultrasoft tyres on

The way this race is going I'd fully expect Hamilton to do a Vettel.

Especially with cold wet ultras on.

    Penalty coming for Lewis?

I would think that Hamilton would be penalised for that cutting in and out of the pit lane.

No it was just driver error

I could be wrong so feel free to correct me, but I think drivers have been punished for cutting into the pit lane, not out.

If the same happened to Hamilton, do you reckon he'd be saying sorry like Vettel, or he'd blame everyone but himself?

Clear driver error though, unless he had a steering problem, which doesn't look likely, fancy Hamilton to win this easily now.

Poor Seb. Couldn’t have happened to a more likable guy...........

I think, but am not certain, it's both.

Surely a penalty 5 or 10 seconds to be applied at end of race.

Give it a ****ing rest for christ's sake.

Stroll out now as well, if Sirotkin's issue was brakes maybe that's precautionary

Other big winner in all this is Max, 45 seconds down on 3rd place before safety car.

Possibly blaming, but doubt he’d be sobbing like a little girl..

I kind of want it to lash down now because Hulk is the highest placed car on inters

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,397 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

    Ultra for the leaders so

Hulkenburg could be in good position of rain hangs around

That Mercedes message was a mess

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

    Verstappen going to win

    Hamilton tyres will be old

  • Registered Users Posts: 409 ✭✭strawdog

Verstappen could be big winner in this if conditions stay dicey

Sainz still with the inters on, why have Renault not followed everyone else and put him onto Ultras

Either that or he wrecks Kimi

    Hulkenburg shown on ultras now

    10 lap dash coming up.

The commentators keep saying Perez and Ocon ran each other wide at turn 8 earlier on, it was Ericsson and Ocon. Perez was on a completely different part of the track when they happened. He had just stopped and lost 7 or 8 seconds because of a slow stop.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,397 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

I'd say safety car will be out again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

Watch Bottas hold everyone up while Hamilton goes off into the distance.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,369 ✭✭✭Rossi IRL

    Bottas looks up for it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,104 ✭✭✭Whiplashy

    Come on Bottas!

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

I maintain that Bottas doesn't have the killer instinct to be a champion. Would love him to prove me wrong here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,990 ✭✭✭Cool_CM

    Bottas looking frisky!

****ing Bottas the ruiner. Holding himself and Kimi up and letting Hamilton saunter off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,929 ✭✭✭kopite386

I'm not a Hamilton or Mercedes fan so I would absolutely love of the two Mercs took each other out of it :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

Bottas clearly been told to back off. He could have won this.

Bottas told to hold position. FFS. I don't think Hamilton can complain about luck this season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,295 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

I wonder is there any radio back from Bottas to being told to hold station.

Edit: and there was, a simple "copy James"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,104 ✭✭✭Whiplashy

Torrential downpour would be good now

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

That's disappointing, corporate horsecrap so the board of directors can all pat each other on the back for how great they are with their nice 1-2 finish. Should have let them race

Would have gone with a "Go **** yourself James" there myself. :P

**** sake Mercedes. That was great fun between the pair of them

Bottas told to hold position. FFS. I don't think Hamilton can complain about luck this season.

If positions were reversed they would be told the same for this race.

Mercedes need a 1-2. The whole Mercedes higher ups are there for this race.

I still hate team orders. Ferrari's team order was worse, telling a driver to let the car behind overtake is worse than telling the car behind to hold position in my eyes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,257 ✭✭✭✭flazio

Vandoorne has done alright out of all this, plum last to ahead of his teammate

I strongly doubt it. Hamilton behind on tyres what, 12 or 15 laps younger?
