iPhone SE not waking up

My IPhone has stopped waking up. When it goes to lock screen it will not come out of it and the screen remains black.. this means that I have to restart the phone by holding the on/off button and home button. But as soon as I leave the phone to go to black screen it happens again. Sometimes I can’t even restart it. Help please. I am in Croatia so can’t even plug it into my pc to diagnose it with iTunes.. it is driving me crazy and the phone is pretty much unusable

Haven’t ever encountered this on my 7, but I googled your problem and some of the suggestions I found are:

With charger plugged in

1. Try holding both the power/sleep button and home button simultaneously for 20 seconds until Apple logo appears

Or if that doesn’t remedy it, again with charger plugged in

2. Hold power/sleep for 3 seconds and then while still holding power/sleep button also press and hold home button

People suggest that this is caused by a a charging glitch, that prevents phome from charging right and the battery goes empty causing the issue you describe, snd that this clears the glitch, but honestly I don't know.

Hope some one of these combos works for you.

Rather than the phone not waking up, it sounds like the battery is failing causing it turn off. Which is what a lot of batteries do when they reach the end of their lifespan or if they are faulty. The Battery Health window in Settings might indicate if that's the problem.

tried restarting it when plugged into charger and hey presto it seems to be working so far.

Glad you got it working. Sounds very like you may have battery issues though. It migjt be possible to get one under the 29 euro deal once you get back to Ireland.

Yep I think you are right. Battery went from 70% to flat in a couple of hours. I’m away for the next two months so looks like fun times ahead.

If you call in to ANY Apple store they'll replace the battery for you, only take 2 hours.

recently got my wife's iPhone 7 plus battery done in store.

This is only Apple Store I could locate in Croatia. Being Apple, I'm pretty sure there will be someone there who can assist in English if you need them.

There are a few other suthorised sellers in Zagreb that are, I assume, network operator stores, and a bunch of non authorised ones in Split, Rijeka, Osijek and Dubtovnik, but if you are anywhere near Zagreb, I reckon the official store would be wisest move, for both convenience of service and warranty.

That’s great duridian. Won’t be anywhere near Zagreb, but will be in Zadar and Split and Dubrovnik so will call into one of those. The battery is getting very hot too. To the extent that you can’t hold it outside of its case. Although everything is hot in this place at the moment. ðŸ˜႒
