    Hi Folks,

Is there an alternative to the Eir Fibre modem?  The one we have really is brutal for wifi.  There's no coverage outside of the room its installed in.

    Hi whitelightrider,

If you're currently using the F2000 modem then this would be our latest modem. If you click on the below link you will see some troubleshooting steps to follow that may helo you to receive a better WIFI connection.

Let me know if that helps.

    Thanks,

You could buy a gaming router and bridge into the eir router. Set the gaming router to ap mode or  default gateway 192.168.1.254 turn off DHCP or if it asks for a DHCP server just put same IP address again 192.168.1.254 this basically tells your new router to leave all network assignments to the eir router and when it needs to give you who are connecting to the gaming router it will confer with the eir one and get an IP address for your device. Any traffic coming from your device to it it will offload to the eir router and so and forth.
Alternatively you could try copy all settings of eir router to a gaming router with varying levels of success depending on your technical know-how

We bought Google WiFi which is pretty good. Two mesh units in argos was 239. We have one beside the eir modem and one upstairs so whole house WiFi coverage.
