It's also easy to note who has and hasn't been vaccinated. It's been a popular question this week, and there's been plenty of "It's a personal decision, I don't want to say" answers :)

I wonder how many players will just fake evidence of having been vaccinated to avoid being subject to all of that. The CDC vaccination card is downloadable in easily printable PDF form from plenty of websites, using fake ones as proof of being vaccinated is a big thing at the moment.

I have the CDC vax card, it is completely unlaminated, it's the size of a queue card, it's signed with a little scribble by whatever random fireman or whoever gave me the injection, they are completely useless as any kind of proof of anything, and my sense when I first got it after the first shot was its sole purpose was administering the second shot (because it says when you got the first and which vaccine it was). Faking it will be ridiculously easy if that's the only proof they're using.

They did issue a QR code when you got the appointment and scanned it when you got each shot, so I guess that could be the basis for a more robust system. Not sure if you could compel people to sign up to sharing that information though.

That's my answer to people who bring it up to criticise people and I got my second jab two weeks ago.

I have one too but have a feeling the NFL will be a bit stricter than just accepting cards, especially for vocal anti-vax and vax-skeptic players.

From a player's perspective it is quite a risk to run to lie to the teams and NFL about your vaccination status given the potential terrible outcomes.

Well thanks to the fantasy football sign up it’s the signal to start getting back up to speed on the news around the NFL(bar the eagles who I keep up to date with). And I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m looking forward to the pre season in just over a months time.

I always think I'm excited that the preseason is coming until I watch a preseason game and then realise I can wait another couple of weeks. Bears playing Justin fields in the games this year might change my attitude on that front though.

Well after we had none last season it’s made me appreciate the fact they happen, although not really the quality of the play in them. It’s live football which we haven’t had since February.

Well seems we are back. It seems Richard Sherman went a bit nuts yesterday and was arrested.

edit: the new look to the site is going to take a while to get used to btw.

What is Sherman alleged to have done?

Richard Sherman was intoxicated and threatened to kill himself during a confrontation with family members before his arrest early Wednesday in a Seattle suburb, according to a 911 caller who identified herself as the free-agent cornerback's wife.

Audio of the 911 call, believed to be made by Sherman's wife, Ashley Moss, was obtained by ABC News and ESPN early Thursday.

The caller described Sherman as being "drunk and belligerent" and said he was "threatening to kill himself." The caller, who identified herself at one point as "Ashley Sherman," also said Sherman was "being aggressive," wrestled with her uncle and "sent text messages to people saying he's going to hang himself."

The caller can be heard attempting to prevent Sherman from leaving the residence, saying, "Richard, please stop." She also told the 911 dispatcher that Sherman drank two bottles of hard alcohol.

At one point during the call, the caller asked the dispatcher to tell police, "please don't shoot," and said Sherman told her he would fight police if they arrived.

In a subsequent 911 call, the caller said she thought Sherman was driving to her parents' home in Redmond, Washington, which is just under 30 miles away from the couple's home in Maple Valley.

Sherman is facing several charges after authorities said he crashed his SUV in a construction zone, tried to break into his in-laws' home and then fought with officers, who used a police dog to apprehend him. He was booked early Wednesday at the King County Correctional Facility in Seattle. Records state he was denied bail, but a spokesman for the Redmond Police Department told ESPN that is standard procedure for suspects of domestic violence until they can appear before a judge.

Seems Brady played most of the season with a torn MCL. How many more achievements til he's platinumed the NFL?

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,416 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Shouldn’t the bucs have put him on an injury report then ? I don’t recall him being listed on one unless I missed it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,359 ✭✭✭Shedite27

Brady's had an injury report on him every day since he was born

Interesting stuff from Schefter that GB offer Rodgers a two year contract extension and he told them to effectively get stuffed.

GB should try and get what they can for Rodgers at this stage because it seems pretty clear that he won't play for the Packers again.

  • Registered Users Posts: 37,484 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Rodgers expected to announce his retirement in the next couple of days apparently.

Well so there’s this report and along with the packers holding their shareholders meeting where they said they are committed to Aaron Rodgers on the one hand and president mark murphy also said he doesn’t know if Rodgers will be there this week. So either he’s retiring, he’s going to be at training camp and then the season, or the packers have no idea.

Looks like Rodgers will be back for 1 more year and then off to somewhere else.

Reports are that his ultimatum was that they bring back Randall Cobb to play alongside him. And that a trade is in motion to make that happen now. Slightly odd given Amari Rodgers already likely filling that playing role with the team, but I guess it gives his ego something so it doesn't appear like he totally folded coming back.

Sorry this won’t be a well rounded post but if you’ve seen the reports about Ron Rivera and his annoyance that some of his players not getting vaccinated and due to him recovering from cancer he’s very much at risk then you’ll have possibly have seen TJ wards idiotic comments about how it was Rivera’s fault he got cancer. So **** TJ ward.

And with the niners singing their QB trey Lance to his rookie contract, there’s now only one outstanding and unsigned and it’s zach Wilson of the New York Jets. How very jets like to not have the apparent saviour of your franchise not in camp because they can’t work out his deal months after he was drafted.

  • Registered Users Posts: 37,484 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

I wouldn't want to play for the Johnsons either. As long as they own the franchise it'll be a hellhole.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,865 ✭✭✭Christy42

It is a pity. He is talented but I feel he needs the most work of any of the 1st round QB and is probably in the worst situation. Mac, Fields and Lance can take their time, no one is expecting them game 1 and Lawrence has better receivers in Jacksonville. The other 3 probably also have better receivers than Wilson and he also has some of the toughest defenses going in his division.

And in eagles news I appreciate the enthusiasm from our new HC Nick Sirianni in general but him wanting the team to “attack everything in the off season” is good but let’s not go too hard on attacking rest.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,416 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Zach Wilson has signed his deal I see.

Sounds like it could be something that keeps him out for a while. They are waiting for a specialist doctor to look at the scans. Schefter said at the end of his last tweet "It is not expected to be season ending."

If he is out for a while hopefully they trade for Foles. A Reich/Foles reunion would only cost them a conditional 7th.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,416 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Oats as an eagles fan I’d love if nick foles could repeat history.

I'm biased because I want rid of his contract but I think if Wentz is out for a few months Foles would be a good pickup. He's a completely different QB when you put him behind an top tier o-line like the Colts have. They have the cap space too.
