Going with Mollema(if in it) or Jon Izagirre

I have done a fair bit of cycling in this region, my Dad lives on the Canal Du Midi near Puicheric about 27kms from Carcassonne. Have done the Pic de Nore from both sides, this side is a bit more regular and is probably too benign for any GC action, the other side is over 10% for the last 3-4kms and would better suit. Its an exceptionally beautiful part of France, the Pays Cathare, and the medieval Cité du Carcassonne is incredibly impressive, I never get bored of visiting.

Nuts start today. Demare etc might have a hope of getting back on now. Nearly 50km for the break to get away

Maybe I'm being simplistic but I don't understand why the GC men don't give Sky an occasional dig out the course, if nothing else just to annoy them. Sunweb etc seem to be happy to sit on in the vague hope something might happen later.

    Seven Worlds will Collide

Sky are the strongest team by far, if you do something like that you will end up more tired than they are and probably lose more time.
It would take a big effort to get past them then they just reel you in at their own pace.
They will be on the front controlling the peloton for every stage.

An insane amount of work to put in to try and get a few seconds back but it could get him back into 9th place.

You just have to love Dan Martin's attitude. Loves to give it a go.

Great to see him attack, madness, hopefully he can pull back a minute or two.

I had 2 of the break but not sure what the hell they were up to esp Mollema

That was rather easy for Nielsen. Good team work from Astana

Unless Mollema and Izagirre mugged him, Nielsen was always going to win that 3 up sprint

Ok but you try something ...not just sit there and do your pulls

Sean Kelly agrees with me...they should have attacked further out
