Switch barrel and security requirements

    Hi all,
I currently have 2 rifles, so this doesn't really apply to me, but I was thinking of getting a 3rd license (for a 6.5) for my switch barrel. I'll still only really have 2 rifles, but 3 licenses. I wonder how this would affect the security requirements if this license, for essentially a barrel, would bring me over the 4-gun security threshold.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Alan

I'd put money on it that An Gardaí go by licenses rather than actual, physical, firearms. IOW if PULSE has you down for "4 guns" then you need security for that level of ownership.

You could contact your FO and ask them to contact the CPO, or contact the FPU directly, but as they interpret the law the same as we do, and the Super will have the last word do you think they'll go for the "its okay as you are" route or the "get it upgraded" route?

The Super will generally refer to the FPU on questions like this[or should], and as Irish firearms law never took combination guns into account, they will probably tell the Super the same thing and leave it to his own discretion as how he wants to liscense it.
